It's a nice upgrade from a 4 cores CPU but new Ryzen seems really interesting. You should wait for them or least wait for the dropping prices announced by Intel (-15%$)

If you only care about gaming then a basic bitch cpu is perfectly fine. What you need is a good GPU.

its just BFV then when i have discord i9n the background, got a 1080, and waiting for a 1080ti to come in the mail tomorrow so thats all fine, but because i7 6700k only has 4 core it lags when discord is open unless i set the affinity of discord to last core, annoying having to do that every time

Release is for 7 July IIRC, but you can already pre-purchase them... Which is not really wise because we still don't really know how well they perform. X570 motherboards will be expensive too
