And in every single one that I got a chance to peruse, there were some ultra-right-wing Yea Forumsfucktards on here spouting their usual bullshit conspiracy theories about how the fire HAD to be a terrorist attack, that Muslims were ABSOLUTELY involved & that there was NO way it was something as innocuous as a carelessly tossed aside cigarette butt.
As anyone who's been there knows, EVERYONE in Europe smokes & it's allowed EVERYWHERE. That said, there are vastly more people in the US who haven't been to more than 5 states, much less to an entirely different country, than those who have, and smoking is all but banned here. So the vast majority of 'Murrikunz have no idea just how accepted & tolerated smoking is in Europe.
Now, as it pertains to the Notre Dame fire, twelve hours after I logged off:

ANY REPORT LISTING A CAUSE IS A LIE. Unless there is video evidence and a confession showing it was an accident, it is a lie.
An origin and cause Investigation on a small fire takes hours. A house that was fully involved days to weeks. Something the size of a hotel will take months.
And many of them an origin can't be found. Once a structure is fully involved you lose a majority of the evidence that shows you where to look. With that kind of structure you have basically a giant chimney, it's going to burn hot. And you have hundreds of tons of fuel above you that will bury everything that isn't consumed.
Without an origin,no cause. And an O&C doesn't get started until well after the fire is out.
There is going to be a lot of people involved in just finding where the fire started, then what started it and after all of that, who or what. It's not going to be fast.
Saying it's being "teared as an accident" is non news saying "I dont know" which is the only thing they should be saying unless they had someone come screamING out of the building either "ALLUHA ACKBAR" or "HOLY SHIT GUESS WHAT I JUST DID!"
In the end without someone taking blame odds are the cause will be listed as either undetermined or of electrical origin.
