normal JRPG style but you have to play a puzzle game when it's not your turn, something similar to Henry Hatsworth
How would you reinvent the turn based combat system to fit with modern standards?
timing based attacks
Modern standards are shit, just leave it as it is.
Square already fixed it by adding a fast forward function to pretty much all their turn based stuff.
That's all you need. Fast foward the fodder shit take your time and have fun on the things that matter.
Just ask what you really mean faggot.
>How would you reinvent the turn based comabt system to appeal to everybody
The answer is you don't, not every game or mechanic has to appeal to everybody. Turn based has audience, if you don't like it it's not you go play some more roll slap dark souls or something.
Add some fruits with massive boobs.
Like Legend of Dragoon?
modern standards are shit so I wouldn't change anything
It's perfect the way it is.
The Grandia system is pretty good, everyone attacking on a dynamic schedule which you can interrupt etc. Might be a common system, I don't play a lot of weeb games
