If you have a DS4 I suggest using that and binding those hotkeys to the touchpad via DS4Windows

No it's still very easy to max him out especially if you like to buy damage boosting items. You can do all of his quests at least and never max out his affinity but constant purchases on top of that and he's your lover. Or you can just let him be judged guilty and avoid that shit altogether.
