meh story, excellent action rpg, controller
warrior is underrated, though retarded implemented
A great game with the shittiest romance system known to man. Where you don't even know how it works and by the end you're marrying the fucking fat landlord.
yes
>what am I in for
Just play
Strength in numbers Arisen.
did they change the growth of romance or something in dark arisen? because I'm always hearing about people getting caxton or fournival as their waifu but I've never managed to. Even when I played for the first time.
wolves. also use kb+m
>Playing Magic Archer for the first time
Now THIS is podracing
You were fooled by Yea Forums the game is shit and I will explain why:
>No indication of where roads lead
>No hint to what enemies are weak to
>No hint of when enemies are alone or in groups
>No warning to avoid status effects
>No clue to which items are masterworks
I don't know how people defend this game.
Decent game for one playthrough, mostly bad side content. Doesn't matter, but I prefer m+k like for most games.
PC version has 5 keyboard hotkeys for swapping items fast
If you have a DS4 I suggest using that and binding those hotkeys to the touchpad via DS4Windows
>implying
The only thing MA is good for is pic related.
It reduced affinity gain for the innkeeper and merchants, though I'm not sure if Fornival is included in this.
Extremly good world design.
Great Monsters.
Bullshit Questsystem.
I've played everything but the yellow classes, which one is most fun?
ah makes sense
>Bullshit Questsystem
how so?
No it's still very easy to max him out especially if you like to buy damage boosting items. You can do all of his quests at least and never max out his affinity but constant purchases on top of that and he's your lover. Or you can just let him be judged guilty and avoid that shit altogether.
how do i make this game not run like ass the pc port ia kinda horribly optimized.
The biggest example of wasted potential I can think of outside of Spore.
Is your PC from the 90s or something?
no 1070 8gb of ram eight core processor
Something is fucked then as I ran it at a solid 60+ fps with a 3570k and a GTX760 iirc
Pawns. You'll need pawns. Our Pawns. The DD general used to have a list of user Pawns. Perhaps look there.
ya iono if even have it installed still
it was mostly noticable fps dips
>the DD general
user, I...
Too bad about that.
When I first played this game, I hated it. If you find yourself hating it too, just start again with a different vocation. Here are some things that might ease any early concerns or questions you get:
>Early game, bandits will fucking destroy you. You're not shit, don't worry, they're just really powerful.
>You get to make your own pawn, and the other two are completely expendable. Don't keep any for too long, don't grow attatched to them, replace them every two or three levels so they're up to par with you and your own personal pawn. Rook, your first extra pawn, is some premade one and not an important character whatsoever.
>You can change vocations freely, but stick to either melee or magic. When you level up, your stat increase is determined by which vocation you currently are. There's no good in levelling up your stats 'evenly'. Go all in on either magic or melee, or you'll feel weak and have a shit time. This was a huge mistake I made on my first playthrough.
>However, contradicting the above, gear you get late game is so powerful stat-wise that it will completely nullify your own stats. And by late game, I mean from the special 'Dark Arisen' content, Bitterblack Isle.
>You're going to get a quest to go to Bitterblack Isle early on, it will be marked permenantly on your radar with a purple icon. Don't go there until you reach the postgame of the vanilla game. The gear there is so good, that if you manage to get your hands on any, it will completely trivialize the vanilla content.
>Don't be a mage. They're for healing and buffing. It's great to make your pawn a mage, but being a mage yourself will suck and make you think the game is shit. On a different playthrough, it's worth being a mage just to struggle through it, because then you get to be a sorcerer which is really powerful and about casting huge fuck-off spells that kill everything. But not for your first playthrough.
>You will pick up a shitload of materials in this game used for upgrading your armor and weapons. It's heavy and will weigh you down. Whenever you go to an inn, unload all your materials into the bank, they're taken from the bank when you upgrade so you don't need them on your person. Whenever you get materials, transfer them to your pawns to keep yourself light. When you dismiss your additional pawns, or when they die, all the materials they had are teleported to your bank.
>Every vendor in the game will eventually give you a quest to get them an 'idol'. There are bronze, silver and gold idols hidden in the game, use a wiki if you want to find them. When you give a vendor an idol for their quest, their stock will improve in quality based on the idol you gave them. I can't remember, but I think there's only one gold idol per play through, so you have to pick which kind of vendor you want to improve.
>When your lantern gets hit with water, it goes out, which can be really shit in a dark cave or at night. You'll have to unequip it and re-quip it. If you are the rogue-ish vocation (can't remember the name), you'll have an abiltiy called 'reset' and later 'instant reset'. You can use this ability to cancel the animation of putting away and putting back on your lantern, which will be a huge time saver added up.
Hey Arisens,
My name is Daimon, and I hate every single one of you. All of you are base, trifling, slaves to a broken order who spend every second of their day completing stupid ass quests. You are everything bad in the world. Honestly, have any of you ever gotten any pawnssy? I mean, I guess it's fun killing random stuff because of your own insecurities, but you all take to a whole new level. This is even worse than doing radial quests on Skyrim.
Don't be a stranger. Just hit me with your best shot. I'm pretty much perfect. I played 190 lvls as a Sorcerer, and started as a Mage. What builds do you play, other than "jack off to shameless princesses"? I also have every other Vocation maxed, and have a banging hot pawnfu (She just told me wolves hunt in packs; Shit was SO cash). You are all faggots who should just godsbane yourselves. Thanks for listening.
Pic Related: It's me and my waifu
Is this game difficult? Thinking about picking it up for Switch later this month, but I'm more in the mood for something simple and relaxing at the moment.
it can be pretty tough
especially the early game
Who among you has seen the dragon?
Early game can be a bit difficult if you're new, but enemies do not scale with your level, and the further you get the easier it gets. You're also free to just completely stock yourself with healing items and make it near impossible to die, because you can pause and comsume items without penalty at any time.
Early game is tough, but it evens out until you reach Bitterblack Isle (post game).
pure tedium and boredom with 5/6 classes being absolutely snoozefests and the only good class having 3 abilities instead of 6 which is gay as fuck too
I think I can sway anyone to want to play this game by showing them the theme that plays when you turn the tide of battle against a massive creature and start to win. It's my favorite thing about the entire game and the reason why I've replayed it so many times:
>so you have to pick which kind of vendor you want to improve
I'd personally keep the Gold Idol for myself since it gives you a 30% discount everywhere, especially because when you get to NG+ all the vendors will be automatically improved whether or not you gave them anything.
But nice tips other than that.
lmao I've never seen a warrior fag be THIS salty that he got shafted by Isuno
I hope it gets fixed in the sequel, too, user.
>warrior best vocation
based as fuck
MA is pretty good in BBI
Thanks for saying so, I had no idea about either of those things.
He's probably mad that quests don't just sit around forever waiting for you to finish them
Pretty good is an understatement, luring enemies into closed spaces and corridors (which are everywhere in BBI) and spamming Ricochet Hunter is one of the most broken strategies in the entire game
its shit until the dragon appears
I'm waiting for a switch release
Shut up, you upjumped user. Your rantings make for tedious reading.
>keyboard and mouse or controller?
Controller is inferior for most games.
I've killed you today, psst nothing personal.
Best environments out of any game. I play with kb but controller might be better.
Strider
Ranger is fucking boring
shut up Daimon
You should copy the gold idol at the black cat and keep the copy, it still gives you the discount
why would you just go on the internet and lie like that?
Warrior and Ranger are the two classes I replay on the most
Is there any sure way to get somebody as beloved? I know that if you talk before doing final quest that you will get them but is there any item that I can give that has the same function?
In my first playthrough I got Caxton as my beloved and I don't want for that to happen again. Like I was so salty I didn't even bothered playing the expansion pack and now after like 1 month I started new game.
My strategy is to give the arisen's bond to whoever before doing Rewards and Responsibility (so straight after Honour and Treachery) and not talking to ANYONE until the end of Deny Salvation.
According to wiki and gamefaq's and shit you can apparently do it with Deny Salvation started but I've also read countless people say they did that and ended up with whorelinore instead of their beloved.
>lie
Ranger has very no unique dagger skills (which sucks), and his most useful and flashy bow skills are just
>lmao 10 arrow
>BIG arrow (which I like less than the strider version)
>BIGGERER arrow
Your beloved is the last person you spoke to with maximum affection towards you (or the highest affection so far if you haven't maxed anyone out) before the dragon kidnaps someone. So before starting the quest where he kidnaps your beloved, make sure you speak to the person you want to be your beloved, and that they have max affection towards you.
>Is there any sure way to get somebody as beloved?
AFAIK no. Even with the Arisen's bond the beloved will still be whoever you talked last to, amongst all characters with max love.
You can give liquid effuvium to make any undesirable to hate you tough.
Change LOD to medium and don't use ENBs shithead
>he can't into romance
It's a pretty fun game. Like other have said you can change classes at anytime after you reach level ten. You do so by going to the inn in Gran Soren. At first they'll have a cost to change and after that they're free. You can change how your pawn interacts with the world by telling therm commands and by talking to them in a special chair in inns. Meat and vegetables slowly rot over time. The fresh versions are worse than the moldy/rank versions so pay attention to how much they've rotten over time. There are a lot of escort quests and the ai is absolutely retarded. They have no sense of danger and will just look at plants and stuff while things attack them. You can pick them up in order to force them away, but they'll shake themselves loose. Frequently change the pawns you use because rented pawns don't level up. when you first cross the canyon you can kick the bull to make it go faster at the cost of health. You can heal it if you have the skill, or by not being full health, standing by it, and letting the pawn heal you and the bull at the same time.
There is an easy mode
>you can kick the bull
About five complete runs in and I didn't try this. Neat.
You can grab any winged monster and fly.
So getting Mecedes as waifu is pretty hard for me now I guess. The problem is that I m unsure with whom I have max affinity since I thought that by getting max affinity I will get new quests/wares, so I gotten max affinity with a lot of people.
Is there any way to see list of all characters with whom I have max affinity? I don't care even if it is mods/configs?
I got Mercedes very easily just by doing her escort quest, siding with her at the start of Pride Before a Fall, giving her Cloudwine a few times, and speaking with her just before facing Grigori.
Used her sword to kill the big bastard too, Dragonforged it in honor of my goat wife.
>Is there any way to see list of all characters with whom I have max affinity?
There's an affinity mod in this mod nexusmods.com
KB+M is awesome in Dragon's Dogma, especially if you play anything with ranged attacks.
It's a fucking amazing game in terms of mechanics, but fair warning: The story and world is really butchered.
i dont use any graphic mods funmy thing is game also runs like shit on console
Oh by the way I think the default hotkey to use it ingame is F12 (which is also steam screenshot) so rebind that shit ASAP
>people actually suggesting k+m for an action rpg
absolutely braindead
Yes on 7th gen. On PC you should have no issues. I am running a 4460 and 1060 6GB and at 1080p I RARELY saw dips below 60 on max everything except LOD. Usually 90-110fps. Turn down LODs, even on high you'll see popin and your frame rate will suffer more.
>>Early game, bandits will fucking destroy you. You're not shit, don't worry, they're just really powerful.
As a reminder, for that early escort quest where every player gets murdered by OP bandits, they leave the road at night and retreat to their fort. So you only have to fight wolves if you go at night.
Ty man. Will try it. In current playthrozgh I just arrived to Gran Soren
I think the very core story, aka anything involving what The Arisen is and Grigori, as well as the postgame, have a great story. It's just spotty when you're working your way up to do quests for the Duke barring a couple side quests chains. I do really like some of the little interactions you can get though, like the guy who you get that magic tome for in a completely optional quest helping you out in a story quest
Why in the world was rotting and rank food better for you? I couldn't understand this.
Capcom is on such a based streak right now I hope we get a DD2 announcement soon.
WOLVES HUNT IN PACKS ARISEN
I think the world and characters felt extremely flat and out of place. The whole world feels dead and fake and soulless, but dear god, the combat is great and visuals are really cool.
Wild JRPG story with big TWISTS that don't make sense in some cases. Excellent gameplay and combat, KB+M.
The "sour" variation was better for you, probably because it was ripe rather than raw, but also not yet rotten.
I always see people say it runs like shit on console, but I've never had any problems with that on PS3 (though I am using the superslim model). There's only one instance when it was noticeably laggy, but it didn't last long
waiting for it
Me too, but I heard it's Magic Archer that ruins the PS3 version. Apparantley causes massive FPS drops. For that reason, I've never played a MA.
It went ignored because everyone's already seen that post.
How would I go making Lady?
>Trophy Jacket
>bandit stalkers/whatever short shorts + mercenary slogs
>magic archer
There's probably something white I can put under the trophy jacket
you may find it frustrating at first but stick with it, the game gets better as you go on and peaks at the bitterblack isle endgame dlc
lots and lots and LOTS of walking
Dark Arisen gives you the Eternal Ferrystone though.
>I'm finally downloading it, what am I in for?
Boredom
>make fake ferrystones at that forge place
>give them as gifts for pawns to take back to their masters
pleb
I'm sure there are mods that can help you in your quest. There's like 50 million skimpy versions of every gear piece already.
For the last 3 times I replayed the game I've given out nothing but War Bugles
doot doot
Is rotten fig or whatever ti's called a default item if something goes wrong or does everyone give me a rotten fig on purpose
i got the game installed which one u mean LOD like texture detail?
>doing a pawnless run and killing the lich dude with the undead dragon.
What are your favorite parts of this game? BBI has been real fun so far. I haven't beaten Daimon yet but I'm already excited to start a new game.
Nah the default item for things going wrong is a rock. You might have an acquisitor pawn that keeps picking them up and that's how the hirers are telling you
>warrior
Amazing combat
Great world
Shit quests
Worse leveling
Kino DLC
alpha chad class
>BBI has been real fun so far
It's easily the best part of the game, and anyone who consults guides or videos for it is ruining the experience for themselves.
>unga bunga alpha chad
It was years ago, I can't really remember, but I think I used a guide to make him the most useful type if you wanted a tank pawn. Maybe people didn't like him because I used the ridiculously deep, distorted voice.
seething ranger fag
It'll happen, people are dumb.
It's never not funny.
it's less skills to use as a crutch unlike you faggots with 6 abilities lmfao @ ur life
you didn't even really beat the game if you didn't main warrior the whole way
bump
It truly lives up to expectations. The boss fights and music is top notch. Daimon is a real fucking cock face. I've spent a while trying to kill him and I don't want to cheese it using wakestones.
I'm going to try again right now actually.
If you used any skills other than arc of deliverance you're a shitter
Also 4 warrior chad/chadette party is the real way to play the game
>When you line up the arc to hit Grigori's heart
pre-bbi it's broken as well
vortex arrow is instant-win against any small enemy
combine it with the holy dagger skill and you even restore all health you've lost
>loading up an ogre's face with explosive rivets
>pawn indomitable lashs him
BASED and REDPILLED
>not weaving between a fight abusing slashes and lunges
pathetic
All you need to know
-Magick Archer is op and broken as fuck
-Mystic Knight is op as fuck if die as one your retarded
-Warrior the one class in the game that offers best experience especially on hard mode. If not into living on edge of death while raping everything play fighter
-Never make your pawn an acquistor, guardian or a nexus. They as useless inclinations. Especially pioneer inclination because the pawn will pull every fucking mob just because it has to always walk ahead a few meters
-never hire pawns with the above inclinations
-never Romance madelene
-hellhounds and garms are faggots
>don't romance jew tits
>play warrior on hard mode
the fuck is wrong with you
I've managed to die as mystic knight during a solo BBI run
friggin double frostwyrm battles man
How do you even clear shit as 100%warrior on the island i cant climb the giant shit and half the shits physical immune.
Reminder that warrior class long sword fags are brainlets and shegoat is the worst waifu
>no indication of where roads lead.
All roads lead to Gran Soren.
Casual fuck right here folks
Jew tits has worst romance dialogue out of all the beloved.
>romance her
>beat game
>she is now in your house and bed
>decide to talk her
>she has to go through 5 pages of lines before you can even get to the romance dialogue
Nope prefer witch tits
Leave any room with spectres / wraiths in it OR use 4x demon periapts and surging light tomes
CHAD GANG
don't throwblasts work decently enough against them?
Hey retard. Fuck you agl fag
>Selene
>Tits
Where are they?
Carry enchanted weapon tribal iced most fights in bb.
In regards to getting items in bb once you play it disregard getting items warrior can't jump for shit.
Did you know jump and attacking as a warrior does a 70% knockdown
wolves hunt in packs
>Imagination
Against the red ones I don't think so but I haven't really tried
Speaking of surging light tomes. If you want to use hooks mod for convenience but still play fair, turn 1 into 10 of them then take 105,000 off of your gold. Forgery cost is 10,500. Shame you can't just buy them somewhere
shallow rpg systems
tedious quests, combat, well everything really
shitty menuing and you have to do it often
Fighting the big monsters is cool especially the first time you encounter them but the endgame is basically just going back and forth from where they spawn and farming them
throwblasts do vastly increased damage if they're possessing you
>picking selene
worst taste
>his arisen is a girl
>his pawn is not a loli
Yall doing it wrong
Am i the only one who rolls full berserk rp with full suport loli witch? I can't be the only one. Are they gonna add the berserk armor to the pc port any time ever.
>spend time making my arisen interesting/a QT/unique
>pawn is universally a default face with a couple of things tweaked
I know I'm doing it wrong and I can't stop
my arisen is a girl and my pawn is a giant male fighter
You would be surprised how many loli witch pawns there are.
So no your not the first
It's incredibly janky, but in that endearing way that leads to unintentionally great moments; marrying Fournival, not withstanding.
>climb ogre to attack its back
>enrages and tried to body slam me
>it jumps off cliff to to do it
>arisen barely survives by using ogre to break fall
>unga bunga one button! me better!
I made my daughteru a debilitation mage
how mad are you?
Is the online pawn pimping still active?
Ranger is better than Warrior in every way
deals more damage, deals damage at range and it has abilities that actually bypass physical immunity
Holy shit you've now convinced me to get this game as you make it sound the game lets me discover things myself, thank you.
Is there a way to disable my pawn from being used online? I don't want her being with anyone inappropriate.
t. dickless dexfag
/ddg/ in its current state is simply another chain in the endless ring. There is no truly escaping it. Once there is enough will, the world will be forged anew.
Everyone in this thread will pretend the game is skill based, but don't be fooled. If you played on Hard for the first time like me you'll realize almost immediately that Lvl and gear are 90% of the determining factor whether you'll die in one hit and do 0 dmg or be an unkillable god. Healing system is shit too.
This game is trash with a few hints of brilliance but nu-Yea Forums will defend it for some reason.
Berserk armor is unavailable in the PC version
Turn off the Pawn's dialogue. They say the same fucking shit EVERY time you pass the same spot in the road and it get old fast.
>Suicide bombing: the spec
Love me some MA
still mad we have arc of deliverance, but good?
I've never seen anybody talk about DD as a skill-based game. Gear aside you heal in a pause menu, unless you get one-shotted you're never going to lose anything. It's just an enjoyable combat system.
Levels really don't matter much, your gear stars do though. You still need to learn the combat system and timing of it won't matter how good your character is
Hard isn't intended to be used for the first playthrough, it's to make NG+ harder
Daimon you nigger, I hope you know I'm coming for your loot again in a week when I get the game on the Switch for maximum comfy.
>Fighting the Griffon up at Blue Moon Tower
>Nailing Grigs with an AoD at the final battle
UNF
>Controller is inferior for most games
He asked about DD though, and controller is superior in it
Make a cute and funny pawn! And marry the little hobo girl!
depends on the class, anything where you have to aim m&k is better
Like literally everyone has done this atleast once.
Overrated boring shit with no content and low af difficulty with the exception of some optional generic trash.
cringe
>Get Type 1 voice for my pawn
>Realize my stubbornness of keeping Rook in my original run and two new game plus runs on the ps3 caused me to only see Type 4 as the true voice of a pawn
Still gives me the chill when your pawn calls out "MASTER!" with Type 4 voice.
How did you manage to keep Rook so long? My first time I left him at level thirty and that's still too long to keep him.
>start encounter
>pawns run forward
>enemies run past pawns straight for me
>pawns keep head towards this single archer in the back
>mfw casting a spell as a band of bandits -1 descend upon me.
With mods you can get six skills on a warrior.
I wanted to love this game so bad bros. How do you get over all the bullshit?
Equip/unequip lantern, having to gather nodes multiple times likes in some shitty MMO, the sometimes bad animations and overall jank?
All I wanted was to slay shit with my 2hander, but after maxing all vocations, I can safely say Warrior is the most boring, least versatile and one of the weaker vocations. How do you justify the Strider-eqsue classes that have a double jump, roll, slide, reset and their excellent overall damage compared to the shittiness of the Warrior?
What's a good level to fight the real final boss at? I remember being disappointed that in my original normal mode run at level 60 the boss was a piece of cake. Now I'm doing hard mode but the exp gain is faster than I remember. I'm already around level 25-level 31 in Stage 2. Everything's still beating the shit out of me so that's a good sign though.
I agree with the second point but not the first.
I was too stubborn to let him go. I kept him for so long that reviving him during critical boss moments and regular mook spawns just felt like a fact of the endless cycle of life.
Not longsword so it's pointless
I was gonna try and min max for a strength build but your post reminded me that I should go to level 200 as a wizard nigga because FUCK THOSE SPECTRES I'M GONNA HARNESS MY MAGICAL POWERS TO BLOW THEM UP..
What?
