What instruments does Yea Forums play?

Bass is the perfect instrument

that's a small difference though, a shitload of people make music or play an instrument at least. there's not that many filmmakers out there

Guitar and piano. Mostly guitar these days.

I love how to music theory, composition, and improvising fit together. Learning an instrument is mostly just doing autistic puzzle piecing.

just a note for anyone wanting to learn an instrument and theory
Start on the piano
>Learn major scales
> Learn chords that that can fit the scale from each degree
> Learn how to make a major minor, 6th a dominant, to Major 7th
> Learn the sixth diminished scale
> Learn how the 6th schord of the scale alterntes with a diminshed chord (check out barry harris for this)
>Learn how the diminshed chord can go to major 6ths, and dominants, and minor 6th
> Learn how to change keys using the dimished to dominant can act as a 5 to another key.

When you get to guitar, do the same thing but figure out all the possible chords on your own first.

I play banjo, mostly claw hammer/frailing style but I can do some fingerpicking. I’m not a turbo picker and mostly just do the t to accompany my singing...murder ballads, gospel, moonshine songs, etc. I go to local bluegrass jams where everyone expects banjo players to take Scruggs style breaks but I mostly just stick with playing rhythm. Same with my guitar playing, just chords and singing.
I built a 19th century replica fretless banjo and it sounds really different from the bright metallic modern sound, more earthy and plunky.
