How can I tell if my flac files aren't bad transcodes?
By listening to them? Why are you getting FLAC if you can't tell the difference otherwise?

If you can tell the difference you get some new FLAC files for the album on which you could tell the difference. It's not that difficult.

this is assuming it will always be as easy to pirate shit as it is now, which I doubt.
If you can't tell the difference between FLAC and MP3 now, I don't think you will be able to ever, so don't bother with FLAC and just get MP3.
