Anybody else afraid of being forgotten after they die?

I'd love to hear it, user.

And for the record, I'm 19.

Lmao. Typical Christian type mental illness

Christian? You kidding?
Hell, I've had, like, three pastors tell me I don't need to leave anything behind as long I do right it God's eyes. The thought made my blood run cold.

We will all fade from memory. Have kids. Keep your genetics alive long after your death

No, I want to be forgotten. I don't even like the idea of anyone knowing anything about me while I'm alive. I'm a ghost in a landscape or something like that.

All we have in this world is legacy. If you do nothing with your life you are nothing after you die.

Again, I know we all fade eventually. The part that scares me is fading too fast.

Well user, I hope you can find peace with that.

Most people feel this way user. This is why they have kids, chase celebrity or shoot-up a walmart. But the reality is everyone is forgotten eventually. Less than 200 generations have passed since the start of civilization. In anther 200 even Achilles will be forgotten (even right now the majority reading this are going who?). The best you can do is not be a dick and try to do your bit to make the world better. You as an individual will be forgotten but wouldn't it be better if 10,000 years from now people are grateful that their ancestors got their shit together rather than cursing them for the apocalyptic horror they left behind?

Nah we will all be forgotten in time OP. Even ancient legends arent very old compared to the age of the earth. We are one blade of grass on a foot ball field that is time. We will exists then cease to exist as a species before anything that "matters" finds us or whatever would give you purpose. Basically your delusional to even think it's important.

This. No one will remember anyone. It's silly to obsess over such trivial things
