Is being direct and honest a bad thing?
My coworkers hate that im always honest and dont hold back during conversations but tbh i dont understand them. Why should i sugarcoat everything instead of just being able to say what i want to say.

dont be an autist. niceness is the lubricant of life.
Being blunt and "honest" is just long form for saying that you're kind of a fuck.
Stop it.
this right here
don't, honesty is needed
also fuckin great image, saved
To exist within the social construct requires some level of civility.
Not being able to handle someone speaking bluntly or honestly is just long form for saying that you're kind of a pussy.
Stop it.
In just about any workplace, especially one where you work inside around adults, there are rules to workplace conduct. Until you wrap your head around that, enjoy your job at the car wash.
I'm not the one having problems with my coworkers, hombre. If they ALL think your a dick, then you're probably being a dick.
>doesn't own their own business
who cares? im getting paid right?
Not for long.
people like to be lied to
>>doesn't own their own business
I'm an equities manager for private investors.
this
>proves me right
thanks
>Proves you wrong.
I guess you don't know what is involved with my business. It's kinda like a private insurance office, but with money. Theres nobody ever here, and I own the place.
There's probably situations where someone turns to you for friendship, but instead you might say something asshole like. For example, someone says "how was your day?" and you respond "don't worry about it" that's a bit rude even if you're just being honest. It also depends what type of person you are.
keep feeding me (You)s expecting me to give a shit what you are saying...
>inb4 replies to this one too
not even gonna read it
Find the difference between being frank and lacking tact. If you don’t like to sugar coat, at least be mindful of when to not be a dick.
Can you give me an example please?

There's a big difference between being "honest" and being an obnoxious, tactless twat. Anyone who fancies themselves the former is almost always actually the latter.
You can’t mess with their willful ignorance, Reality is a hard pill to swallow and normies like to find their cozy spot between knowing about it and not thinking/caring about it.
Tl;dr: life sucks, stop reminding people.
Them: “OMG, My cat Fluffy just died.”
Tactless response: “It’s just a cat. I’m sure you’ll get over it” or “Really? How?”
Tactful response: “Oh, I’m sorry for your loss” or “They must have meant a lot to you.”
Whether or not you like cats or give a shit about the coworker’s fee fees, you don’t make their day worse.
this.
i'd watch some stand-up comedy to see how to be bluntly honest in a non-mean way that still makes people like you. love him or hate him, bill burr springs to mind.
Ok i'll try that then
Think about why what you're saying is upsetting people. There is a way of telling the truth without being an asshole about it. You'll get a lot more cooperation that way
Probably because you’re just an asshole. There’s a difference between being honest and saying rude things that don’t need to be said.
Give us an example of something you said that annoyed everyone
people who complain they get shit "for being honest" are people who are cunts. stop being a cunt
Because we have to live in a society, and it helps to live in a society where people like each other and aren't constantly fist fighting with each other. So tell the truth but work on your tact. Exercise politeness.
It's past honesty, it's abrasive
It’s because people who do something wrong are always angry when confronted
One my coworkers during lunch was sitting next to me and kept asking me about what im writing in my notebook (i like write down things that may be useful for a little story im writing to pass the time) i told him "I dont want to tell you, stop asking me about it, its annoying."
The other coworkers however agreed with the guy and wanted me to tell them but tbh i dont like talking about it because its embarrassing to me. So i just told them "I just want some privacy, dont you understand that?"
Hell no. People hate it but they need it. They never had discipline in their life
I think they probably took that badly because i said it in a slightly aggressive tone.
Pretty much this say what you mean and mean what you say, but you dont have to be a fucking dick about it.

cool, good luck. here's the specific bill burr video that came to mind but a lot of his stuff should do the job. also dave chappelle, he finds a way to be offensive and wholesome at the same time.
Thanks dude
>I have autism.
BAZINGA!!
no worries mate
true, tone affects a lot as well. just stay calm and try to have a laugh about it. make up some ridiculous story about what you're writing that's obviously bullshit, and most people will get the message that you don't want to talk about it.
Its hard to laugh about it when they keep asking me over and over again. It just me annoys me so much.
i get it, some people are dicks like that.
but other people will recognise that as well, which gives you a little more leeway for passive aggression while still having them on your side. change the story, make it about a guy who won't stop asking dumb questions but pad it out with ridiculous stuff so you're not just writing the guy's biography.
Huh seems worth a shot, again thank you for all the help.
This.
again no worries, been there man.
it's so much more effective and satisfying than anger if you can crack it.
they'll keep fucking with you if they can get a rise, but no one wants to look like an idiot in front of everyone.
