Welp anons, I was diagnosed with sleep apnea. Age 30.

Anyone relate? Have you had any improvements from treatment?

wear your fucking mask. lose weight. stop smoking. stop vaping.

I quit smoking to make sleep apnea better and went the way of a mouth fedora. the mouth fedora made it so so so much worse.

Daniel?

Yes not depressed anymore more energy love it

I'm more depressed than ever. but the mask makes a fun wooshing sound to drift me off to dreamworld.

Absolutely none
But now i cant sleep without the air blowing down my throat, its a literal fixation now.
If you arent a mouth breather try the nasal pillows vs a full or partial mask, they are so much more comfortable then a full/partial mask
Also you will feel like you are smothering so turn off the RAMP feature on the unit, it feels like you are sucking air out of a fucking closed bag if you dont turn it off.And you should get used to the pressure anyway without this bullshit ramp shit

What they dont tell you.
You have to stay compliant with a certain amount of hours used each month or you dont qualify for your insurance and they will charge you the full rate of the machine + the monthly rental for each part.
I use my fucking machine every night but i only get 2-4 hours on it because i naturally take it off in the middle of the night and i literally cannot do anything to make me keep it on 8 hours, nor do i even naturally sleep 8 full god damn hours a night and i became non compliant with the insurance company and got a bill about a month after i started therphy for over $2000
You're better off buying the machine third party brand new then renting it from the insurance company

My wife is sure I have it, so I went to do the test but couldn't sleep with all of the fucking wires all over me.

How did you sleep with that shit on? They told me not to take sleeping meds either.

Are you fat? Lose weight.
And do a keto diet. It opened up my airways.

No one cared who you were until you put on the mask.

I dont even weigh 100 lbs and i have sleep apnea

I’ve had been losing weight, 50 pounds even, but really plateaued. I felt something else was up, hoping this diagnosis will spread to other areas of health. Like energy, mood, weight loss.

I only smoke mj, but it is habitual so dropping that will be best.

No sorry.

Good to hear, I’m looking for the same results.

you're fucked mate

I was able to opt for a take home version. Simple finger monitor, nose strip, connected to a small module strapped across my chest. No issues sleeping once I finally fell asleep, but only side / back positions.

I didn't know there was a take home version. I'll have to ask about that next time. Thanks user

Thanks for the insurance information. That is a pro tip I will be on the lookout for.

I'm a Registered Respiratory Therapist.

What are your pressure settings?
Do you take any breathing treatments with your mask?
Does your mask cover your nose only like the one in the picture or does it cover both your mouth and nose?
Do you get easily exhausted during regular activity?
What was your chest x-ray like?
I'll ask more once you answered the first bunch.

I never knew sleep until I got my CPAP - I can't sleep without it. Which sucks for power outages.

But I'm a lifelong case of Apnea and didnt get diagnoses and CPAPed until a couple years ago at like 28

I've slept with a CPAP set at 14 pounds since 1999 and I fucking love it

Hello, thanks for your expertise. I haven’t been equipped yet with my machine.

>What are your pressure settings?
>Do you take any breathing treatments with your mask?
>Does your mask cover your nose only like the one in the picture or does it cover both your mouth and nose?

I haven’t been equipped yet with my machine. So I do not have these answers yet. I plan to use the full face mask, as I do more mouth breathing due to a an accident last year leaving me with a moderate deviated septum

>Do you get easily exhausted during regular activity? No. I have difficulties with breathing or stamina with regular exercise.

>What was your chest x-ray like? ‘Normal’ was the relay to me.
>I'll ask more once you answered the first bunch

Sorry mobile*

My girlfriend uses a cpap I can't fucking sleep when I sleep with her she fucking snores.

I likely had it myself as a result of my chronic sinus disease but was never formally diagnosed.

I had FES surgery 3 weeks ago and the quality and duration of my sleep has improved substantially, I was breathing better immediately following surgery with the inside of my nose caked in dry blood and snot than I was with a completely clear nose prior, I haven't arbitrarily woken up in the middle of the night once since my surgery either.
