With every language comes a new understanding of the world around you - some words can't be translated from one language to another, but they can be understood in the abstract. The more words you know, the more varied your thinking.

There is literally no reason for schools to be teaching kids any other language, it's impossible to teach them anything useful in that period of time, whereas if they were taught Esperanto they could probably become near fluent, and it'd promote it as a world language
