Why the US doesn't use the international system of units?

Why the US doesn't use the international system of units?
And don't talk me about wars or the moon landing to justify it (see Mars Climate Orbiter), just comments on why a change doesn't happen.

Because they're tards

It really bugs me too. Just why?

>Why the US doesn't use the international system of units?
Because it's too much effort to change everyone's way of thinking and units of scale
>"Just convert it all lol"
If it's so easy to convert, just convert the international units to the US's units

Of all countries on Earth, only three haven't done it, so I don't think it's that hard
It's far easier to just use the SI and convert from one unit from another

Globalism + 2 sets of units = 2x money for tools

we use both because we aren't retarded. i mean really, a system that just moves a decimal point? truly for brainlets.

There is no explain, they started being fuking retarded and now is too late to change it back, soo

Right, that's why every respectable scientist and engineer only uses SI

School science classes use metric though

>respectable

Right, everyone must feel superior and not retarded when asking for a 3/8 nail, of course

I wonder since I'm not from the US
Are there scientists or engineers that don't use SI in the US?

this is the Q i was going to ask

We, the US, officially do use SI. At least in international dealings. Military, science, etc. We use our own system, USCS, here at home and that shouldn't be any concern of anyone else.

Massive retool and marketing costs that really are not needed.

It serves no purpose.

We do not need to be just like you.

Because the world won't stop nagging us about it and it's a VERY easy way to troll you all.

It reminds me of the whole "It's not my wallet" thing by Patrick Star.

America can agree that the metric system is technically superior, then say "Fuck it Imperial is still the way to go baby".

We love how it drives you Europeans nuts.

engineering yes, science I don't know. much industrial and mechanical engineering is still conducted in inch standard because that's what the poor bastard who will have to install it be using.

I have heard many guys from the US complaining about it. I don't know if that is common tough.
Is there a group of people or something that want's to move from USCS there?

Why can't eurocucks use the standard system? It's called standard for a reason you moronic subhumans.

testing cMTH

Why can't foreignfags stop thinking about us?

Why don't eurofags know how to Google?

base 12 is way easier for mental math than base 10 in terms of weird calculations.

they do.
its just not universally used.

computers dont give a shit about units
its all arbitrary

Manufacturers are cheap shits who own Congress and don’t want to spend money retooling production lines.

their military, hospitals and scientists use it though, because it's more accurate and the units of measurement are more interchangable.
1kilojoule being how much energy is needed to heat up 1mL of water by 1 degree celsius. 1mL of water taking up 1cm3 space and also weighing exactly 1 gram etc etc. that shit's way harder in imperial measurements.

right, because there's no associated cost with redoing all of the myriad road signs, school materials, legislation, and not to mention the reeducation of generations of americans.
we officially went metric in the 70s, and nobody followed it, so it never got anywhere.

>more accurate
Since any measurement system allows you to go to an infinite level of accuracy by using decimals, this makes no fucking sense.
>that shit's way harder in imperial measurements
Good thing no one uses imperial measurements anymore and also that we have computers.

>their military, hospitals and scientists use it though, because it's more accurate and the units of measurement are more interchangable.
we don't use it in those contexts because it is better, we use it because the rest of you unwashed fucks do.
there's no inherent better or worse measurement system, really - especially in a military context. as long as you and your buddies are all on the same units, it doesn't matter - they could be lengths of a bullfrogs cock as long as you all use them.

Yeah, but the problem is not the base per se, but that different units are used in for the same type of measurement and are not interchangeable in a logic sense.
