The dumb has been identified.
Just a guess, but it looks like they opened it up surgically. Maybe to remove a tumor or something they didn't want to break into smaller pieces to remove through the nose.

Broken maxilla, this is a Le forte fracture.
Broke his fucking face. You can see how the upper jaw has broken away from the top of the skull.
How would they fix this?
Forgot to add the picture.
With no broken teeth? No bruising on the lips? I suppose it's possible, just wasn't my first guess.
They can't, they have to kill the person. They just want to play with his flappy jaw first
lol wut you serious
Yes. In fact, I'm a doctor.

In this episode of Engineering Disasters...
nice pic and i scrolled through it all
Damn son, they really just bolt them back together with metal brackets. I guess that makes sense though. What else are you gonna do?
Strange, I knew someone who had that, but they just severed the frenulum, and it took care of it. I guess that's for more severe cases. That's what I was saying
The face looks pretty undisturbed besides that one separation.
You're probably right to be honest. I always assumed it was a trauma fracture but doing a dig into it this is probably a medical procedure to correct deformed facial structure.

With a specialized guarded chisel and mallet, the septum of the nose (i.e., cartilage and bone) is separated from the maxilla. Care is taken to avoid penetration past the septum into the nasopharynx"
