We have to do something about homelessness in america.
I propose we make it absolutely illegal to interact with them. No handing out food, money, or any kind of charity. Forcefully close down homeless shelters. These just encourage more homelessness.
When left to fend for themselves, many will perish, and the strong will survive, and their survival skills will let them re-enter the real world. The rest will be gone, and so will the homeless crisis.

Places are working on it. Many areas you can't camp in and the cops will make you leave. It's becoming illegal to feed the homeless in some areas too. More just need to catch on.
This makes no sense since homeless aren't in the marketplace.
You'd lose that $1000. I could go without working for a year. I could go ~5 years if I sold my home and got a cheap rental.
Salt lake city virtually eliminated homelessness by just giving free housing. That seems to work in practice, so I'd rather do that than try something untested and heavy-handed
