I think it should be a felony. It would be very hard to prosecute, because how do you prove something didnt happen? But in the few cases when it can be proved. . .

In this cases, the female should be registered as a sex offender, and face the same punishments that the man would have faced if he did rape her.

I unironically agree with this. However it should extend to all crimes. Either that, or you should have to serve whatever amount of time the person you falsely accused of the crime would have served had you not been caught.

I think I would only agree with this if woman specifically named someone previously known to her so its a situation where accidental false ID would be highly unlikely. Women are guilty of false accusations but ones who are actually raped tend to get "raped" a second time by dirtbag defense lawyers.

A good solution to many of the problems would be to have a 6 month statute of limitation on rape accusations but no statute of limitation on the act. As long as there is an official statement that she was raped at such-and-such a time/location they can go after the guy. But this crap where the first accusation is years after the fact is BS.

they should definitely be punishable with prison time. they can ruin marriages/families, result in false incarceration or even execution, end careers etc. but of course this will never happen since women (and men) are already often too scared to come forward.

They shouldn't be punished at all. There is rarely a such thing unless a woman is mentally ill, like seriously and extreme, in which case punishment is not fair.

Otherwise, women are raped in ways that go beyond the technicalities of law. Imagine being emotionally abused for a year, but sticking with a guy because he promises you something, loyalty, security, whatever. Then it all comes crashing down and he's with some bimbo and you're living with your mother, having everyone say I told you so.

Except, imagine you know this will happen and can not only prevent it, but get REVENGE.
