Alright /b, this is the wrong place for this but its still better than reddit...
Got a friend who does it. He sits on an aircraft carrier and pulls a lever like a monkey every now and then. But he gets paid well and he's got a hot wife and baby in comfy housing at home. That said, I don't think he likes it. The long tedious deployments on aircraft carriers and all. He also is a chad though.
dont be a chad
>Earn more money for being an engineer.
>Buy guns and train like a spec op.
>Profit???
I’m spec ops in Navy. There’s a whole field of “spec ops” diver, rescue swimmer, swcc , EOD and Seals. In real life.. diver and swimmers and pretty much swcc aren’t spec ops but gained the title. There is no “infantry” keep in mind any job you choose that’s “spec ops” is going to be a 3 year training commitment until you’re finally qualified and able to “enjoy” that job. Which you won’t because you’re going to hate your life for those 3 years being treated like a dirt bag. I’m almost finished my contract and if there’s one thing i would do. Is get my bachelors and join as an Officer. You can still do spec ops and you’ll make a fuck ton more money with way more respect. Don’t be stupid. And fuck your recruiter and every recruiter. They lie and do anything to get a better eval than the recruiter next to them. Ask only questions on threads and to people you know who have gone thru the EXACT career choice you want to do. Because chances are, your recruiter was a cook on a shitty ship and has not the slightest bit of information on what spec ops actually does. Hope this helps dude!
I scored a 90 and was offered the same nuke BS. Both rates have high drop out. Nuke isnt just hard, its classified which means the only place you can study your book is in secure areas. Special Warfare requires you be in better shape than anyone you know. Look into seabees if anything. They build and defend.
Okay, i got a lot more responses than i expected. I plan on enlisting and either A. Getting a commision or B. Finishing my college and becoming a civvie nuclear engineer back home. Im only a junior in high school right now and i have always had problems with being confident in the choices i make, but now i know what the job entails now.
My recruiter told me i would be home more often than not. Im glad that you guys told me that that was certainly not the case. I have another question then: what career in the military (airforce, navy, army, marines) where i can best raise a large and prosperous family? I cpuld wait until im 26 and have kids then, but i want to have many children as early as possible so i will be physically fit enough to be a good father and role model. Also, if anyone has any experience with being active duty, how much down time did you have? I usually write, workout, and game as my hobbies, will i still have time to do that even with as many as five or six kids with (hopefully) an at home mother?
Also as a side note, where can i meet loyal (preferably tall, wide hips, blue eyes or high IQ) white women? I know, its conflicting, but i want my children to be better than me in every way possible. I think im asking too many questions, so ill stop and wait for more responses. Thank you all for responding.
What did you score for each section? the 91 doesnt really mean shit
Navy enlisted works 8-10 hours a day usually when on shore duty (plus standing 8 hours watches which is done on a rotational schedule). When deployed expect 12 hours on 12 hours off 7 days a week plus standing 4-8 hour watches. Dont plan a wife and kids now. Any place has the opportunity to raise a family, but you will deploy 6-12 months at a time average, so focus on finding a girlfag that you can trust while you deploy. Most new sailors/soldiers jump into marriage too soon after boot, get high interest car loans and get fucked over.
