Something that comes immediately to mind is testing medical data. No matter if you slash your wrists, ingest/inhale/inject poison, stick your penis in a breaker panel, or "other," you can probably improve upon mankind's understanding of death by your chosen method.
A streamed or posthumously disseminated record of your vitals (heartrate, temperature, respiration, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, etc) and measurements specifically useful to understanding your method would be the best. For example, you could record opiate levels in your urine until you can't accurately measure relative concentrations via disposable test strips. Or you could record an EKG if you were going to fuck a breaker panel - you get the point.
The only reason I would consider the boys from isis is if you wanted to test something about death by explosives or conventional weapons...I suppose they are well-resourced for such tests if you have your medical sensor suite ready to go when they kidnap you for ransom.
