Don't take what he says too personally. People around here are too busy to be polite, so if they have something negative to say, they'll say it quick and move on. Contrast that with the south where the smallest perceived slight is held onto indefinitely and that person forms a grudge against you that you'll be completely unaware of because no matter what you fucking do they just smile and "bless your heart" you like a complete fucking sociopath all the while gossiping about you to everyone they can to tarnish your reputation. God damnit.
