Would it be possible for an elite-level worker to take a reasonably athletic person with a lot of wrestling knowledge...

This is the first interesting thread I see on Yea Forums since 2017

I thought he was perfectly solid as a tag guy up until recently. He's either regressed or doesn't care as much now unfortunately. I guess it didn't help his big debut New Japan Cup match was against Hikuleo (who has potential but isn't there yet).

I think somebody that has watched wrestling all their life understands how to take a back bump at least.

This is the answer. If Bret hart had 3 hours with you to show you how to land on your back and how to lean into the ropes he could put on a watchable match.

this happened pretty often in japan, especially with inoki and onita. onita had a weird series with leon spinks.

there's a lot of ways to have a pro wrestling match and two stars isn't that lofty. you can usually get there just by being unique.

You’d be surprised. It’s not just about falling flat on your back but also being able to make it look and sound good.

It's possible, yes but the lack of training to take bumps and also to do moves without killing the other person would be a problem.

It would probably depend on the person carrying them. I'd trust someone like Ronda or HHH to carry one of the women or men, respectively than I would say, HBK or Becky.

You don't even need to be an elite level worker, just smart enough to put together a match.
DeAngelo Williams got a two+ star match teaming with Moose against Eli Drake and Chris Masters.

It's also about digging out the ingrained fear and reflex. I'd say a lot of wrestling fans would still hesitate on the landing and try to turn themselves if it was among their first times doing it.

Everyone who’s ever come to training for the first time is a wrestling fan and you know what? All their first bumps suck. Takes some work.
