What went wrong
They just did their best Korakuen number in years. Try again nujapanlet.
The company deluded themselves into thinking they would keep growing bigger than their strong start. Instead of pushing their second generation guys they kept putting the belt on old guys past their primes as attendance kept going down and then the third generation didn't produce a second Messiah and they had to push their second generation that they'd buried in the mid card for 10 years, or brought up from juniors-sent back to juniors-brought back to heavyweight and expected the crowd to buy into it. Also, they handled the whole Kobashi cancer thing very poorly and the yakuza shit lost them the tv deal which crippled them worse than you could imagine.
Their top stars died or retired
The entire NOAH aesthetic is far superior to NJPW. The graphic design, the jade ring, the music, everything. I wonder why NJPW has such an outdated look to it.
Attendance figures are still in an overall decline which is embarrassing for a promotion that once drew at the level of New Japan.
This didn't help
They tried to push Marufuji and KENTA as top guys and numbers tanked. The promotion was doomed from the start, desu. It was all very poorly planned I think.
It's been on the rise for the past two years, bud.
Wrestling in Japan is becoming a little more culturally important again. NOAH is doing better because it feels like everyone is.
They ditched the green ring. Now its white with a black apron.
No they didn't. Marufuji got the old Misawa push where it was supposed to be slow, he was winning with sneaky pins showing that he's not Ace material yet but he's trying to hang with the big boys. Also, the Marufuji/KENTA title match was the second singles match between the two that year, they fought for the junior title just several months before... not smart booking. Also, the cards around the time were weak because they were scrambling around. After that they both got buried in the mid card and even pushed back in the junior division. KENTA got his Ace run in 2013, Marufuji in 2015.
Yakuza interfere ruining the golden days
C'mon, Edwards was a blimp in the whole history of NOAH's downfall.
It was the first big show of the "reboot" it will probably go back to the same numbers has before in a few weeks
NOAH Jr. stuff is based. Would rather watch Harada and Tanaka and the like over whatever manlet flippy white guys NJPW has.
They failed to create new stars, other than KENTA and marufuji, who were jrs, then panicked and tried to push marifuji as a heavyweight which everyone hated except N drones.
When their top guys retired there wasn’t a lot of new guys to keep the promotion exciting.
It’s a shame, imo Takeshi Rikio was good and they should’ve kept pushing him, Morishima was okay, Shiozaki was based as fuck and still is. Muhammad Yone should’ve also been slotted into the heavyweight title picture better. But they mishandled many young talents by claiming they weren’t ready for the main event, and subsequently missed the boat on pushing a bunch of guys who could’ve carried them well. They were in a weird spot of trying to please the old guys who wanted to hold their spots as long as they could, and also trying not to upset the smarks after the Marufuji overpush, and they basically pissed off everyone. When they lost their television deal it basically halved their audience overnight and it’s been that way for years.
They still have great talents who put on good matches though. Shiozaki is still one of my favourite heavyweights even though he looks sickly like he has a drug addiction.
They will make a comeback for sure. They still have good relationships with a lot of good talent, so it’s not like they burned all their bridges, and also pro wrestling in Japan is less tribal than it used to be and people tie themselves to one promotion less these days.
So the promotion was on shakey ground.
Shiozaki really does look constantly fucked up. His doughiness doesnt help.
Shiozaki is the definition of a failed ace
I would say that but Nakajima's in the same promotion. Their team name should be FAIL ACE.
NJPW looks gritty and sports like. Which is good
They hired too many yardtarders like Ratels and hi69 which makes them look so fucking bush league and their ace kiyomiya is a simp. Their longest tenured young boy kumano who's been wrestling for 6 years is still as robotic as his first day as a wrestle who peaked in 2014, their next young boy Junta looks to follow in his path. Kotoge been relegated into a joke with that bullshit capeshit gimmick when he was over before as the underdog heavyweight. Kenoh is a terrible Kenta ripoff and I can never take his flabby gut seriously everytime it jiggles when taking a bump
It truly all started when Jado was unable to create a new star to defeat Minoru Suzuki.
>What went wrong
- Never got new rookies
- Ran the rookies they did get off
- Never gave Jun the push he needed
- Kobashi was always injured, Misawa died
- Super stale and lazy booking style with endless trios matches
And Yoshinari Ogawa...
RATEL'S is based though.
Only if you're puro twitter
I have no social media but watched what I could of Osaka Pro back when JOKER was the big heel stable there and Harada, HAYATA and Tadasuke were pretty large parts of the promotion.
man was this faggot generic
Suzuki-gun
Osaka Pro was a literal who yardtard fed, and that's why signing them has relegated NOAH into feeling like a literal who yardtard fed as well.
Fuck off retard.
Look man, you can like your indies while still acknowledging that they are bottom of the barrel in the pecking order. I love my obscure indies too but i don't lie to myself they're terrible sometimes.
Basef and rational stonerpilled
>accusing Osaka Pro of being backyard wrestling
I agree you are a retard
I don't even get what you're trying to say at this point. Shitposting just to shitpost?
>everyone i don't agree with is a shitposting retard
BASED RETARDS
>EVERYONE THAT DISAGEES WITH ME IS PURO TWITTER THEN WATCH ME JUMP UP ON MY HIGH HORSE
Based double retard.
based retard working a burner account gimmick and thinks he isn't on twitter
>noah is doing badly
>no it isnt
>well then its doing well because everyone else is
I'm not going to try and bother deciphering what you're trying to say, I'm just going to call you a retard instead. Retard.
>I'm too dumb to debate so i'm going to proclaim myself to have won the debate
I am not even the guy he was originally replying to but it's still true. Saying NOAH is doing better is true but it's not because I feel like they are putting on a better product.
>debate
All you've done is shitpost. Retard.
>everything i don't agree with is a shitposting retard
Groundhog day. Get new material
that's subjective, i don't follow NOAH that closely but to say that the company is bad and to se they're doing bad business are two different discussions and i find it reductive to put the merits on their success just on wrestling being more popular
Reminder that NOAH died with Misawa just like AJPW died with Baba.
I keep seeing their bus, it's tiny.
First in Shinjuku & then in Shibuya wtf is going on?
based Japan user. That's an advertisement truck promoting their ryogoku show in Novemeber
Are you a Japanese boomer by any chance?
why you ask, zoomer?
This bus?
Who the fuck is noah?
definitely not Judas
Not pushing guys when it was time like kenta in 2009 or Jun in 2004
I think the word you're looking for is "presentation"
Go back
Blampied and a baby
based
It's cool that someone from my hometown won the same belt that Misawa did, but holy fuck what an absolute nobody
KENTA was never going to be a draw for NOAH.
I'm kinda shocked how little shows they put on, tried to watch some more recent stuff and realize their last big event was back in March. So I am watching Great Voyage. I guess they have the entire roster come out before the show with their own introductions. Jesus christ, it's like their entire roster is composed of Yoshi-Hashis or the anti-dimes shitters you'd see in a Best of Super Juniors tournament. Few guys had great looks.
I unironically love the look of their champ and how youthful he is. Feels like a good fresh start rather than this being a league intended for old shitters who can't go anymore.
>no wristtape simp
Akiyama not beating Kobashi for the title in 2004. All downhill from there.
Kobashi, behind Misawa is literally the biggest yen the industry has ever seen.
Most of them look like shitters and lost like shitters.
pls understamd
yes, the yo-heys and hayatas of the world look like yardtarders and is one of the reason why i stopped watching, much to the chagrin of that one Osaka Pro fag
And they had him drop the strap to a literally-who shitter. It was Akiyama's time.
