When asked for clarification regarding his earlier comments about move damage and wins and losses...

>When asked for clarification regarding his earlier comments about move damage and wins and losses, Cody responded by saying "Yeah, so when we're thinking about a direction, we're thinking about who we're building and where they fit into the atmosphere of AEW. Think of it like Dragon Ball Z - Yamcha didn't just go out there and take on Perfect Cell. It's all about power levels and getting over the stature of a wrestler on the scale of said power levels.
OH NO NO NO NO NO NO NO

Attached: file.png (1280x720, 1.19M)

Their promotion is full of Yamchas

And here I thought jobbers had been in wrestling forever, but no, I guess Cody just invented it and this is really innovative.

wtf aew sounds based

Who the hell said they invented it. They're basically just saying "we're going to do the bare minimum to make it so people can give a shit."

>the bare minimum is treating your audience like absolute retards and feeding them a number-system so they understand what they're watching whilst also limiting your creative leeway

Well they sure do want WWE fans to watch.

>isn't aware that wwe has pwoer levels too which is why brockle snar can f5 epople to death
I mean if you guys need someone to outright say it you may be a retard

Well there goes Vince giving a single fuck about this shitshow

If AEW was more like DBZ, they would actually draw fucking dimes. Retard.

>DBZ drew dimes because of a set of numbers that the creator himself abandoned because he felt it was creatively limiting

The whole point of the power levels was that Frieza and by extension his man viewed power as something purely numerical, but true power comes from your heart and your spirit. Vegeta's character growth starts with him deciding to ditch his scouter and go with his instincts. Frieza never did this because he never even considered the idea that he might have to grow and change, so when someone stronger than him showed up, he got fucked bodied. The numbers were bad and limited your understanding of the world around you. That was the whole point.

Anyway I dunno what any of this has to do with AEW. Is this just the new forced meme now that we can't do hot dogs anymore?

and then the retarded fans started saying "w-wait how did x beat y his power level is much higher"

aew fans aren't going to be smarter than dbz fans

That's nice but it doesn't change the fact that I was talking about it from an outer-universe perspective and the creator literally abandoned the notion as he felt it was a suffocating giveaway that drained tension from any battle.
You're also probably giving Toriyama too much credit considering many of the enormous leaps in power were explained by zenkais, which were contrived for the sake of convenience.
The only real case wherein it was a matter of following one's heart/spirit was Goku's transformation because that was fueled by his acceptance of his Saiyan heritage, hence the original speech in Jap before the dub butchered it with le heart of le universe.

>give kenny the most power rating
WWE shows video of him jobbing in developmental
>give cody the most power rating
WWE shows video of him jobbing to everyone
>give Jericho the most power rating
WWE show video of him to jobbing to everyone

Lol this is just giving WWE an easy way to bury them

Rejecting the idea of an underdog is idiotic.

Having to use numbers and stats to convey the idea of an underdog because your fanbase are idiots is literally idiotic.

>zenkais, which were contrived for the sake of convenience.

>Vegeta gets three zenkais over the course of Namek, gets completely bodied by Freeza's when he's not even trying
>Goku gets one zenkai after arriving on Namek, can stand up to Freeza until he gets serious
big wew

But yeah, I know, I just like the idea that Vegeta started changing when he ditched his scouter, but Frieza is this heartless fuck with no spirituality and it winds up being his undoing.

>Anime E-Lite Wrestling
Holy fucking yikes. Imagine watching this.

Ok Cody our fanbase are obese autistic man children how should we market to them?

HOTDOGS AND DRAGONBALL Z

power levels got ditched because they got stupid big quickly. The Frieza saga had goku go from like 10,000 to the millions and that kind of growth would mean we would end up with stupid big numbers by the end of the buu saga. It would've distracted from the show/manga to have to show numbers that large.

ok but no one asked or gives a shit about your thoughts on dbz, go make a blog you retarded loner

Tien is an underdog. Yamcha's just a jobber fuck.

I can't wait to see three episodes in a row of Jungle Boy charging up to take on Kenny.

tien has lost more fights than yamcha in dragon ball canon

Well unlike WWE people still like Dragon Ball and its still performing at a high dime drawing level

I'm pretty sure this is the DBZ board.

>people

stop exposing the business

>counting shit from the territory days
party's over gramba

super and gt aren't canon, even if you just count Z they're tied.

Dragon Ball was only good when it didn't have words/letters after Ball.

Tien hit his finisher on Semi-Perfect Cell, Yamcha jobbed out to a Saibaman and a fat clown robot.

and they both still have the same number of wins

>But yeah, I know, I just like the idea that Vegeta started changing when he ditched his scouter, but Frieza is this heartless fuck with no spirituality and it winds up being his undoing.

Well yeah it partly his acceptance of Saiyanhood that lead to beating Freeza so it has something to do with it, but saying power levels are about that broadly is a bit of a stretch considering basically every arc up to Namek was "heart-driven protag vs powerful villain".

Super's canon, just like, weird branching canon. It's all derived from Toriyama's ideas, which GT wasn't.
Broly movie is the only singularly canon thing after the original DB chapters ended.

Actually, they've lost the same amount but Tien has won more.

Super os the continuation but the anime is fucking different from the manga now that they are completely incompatible by the last arc

have sex

Yeah that's what I meant. The anime/manga are branching
Undeniable canon are the original 41 chapters of the DB manga and the Broly movie. Super anime/manga are a forked continuation, basically.

Fucking cringe

It's really a novel concept when you have WWE trying to sell people that a jobber like Kofi can beat a main event power level like Bryan a month later just because he got some pops in a few bulbasaur cities.

>brockle snar

Is this the true autistic power of AEW’s stat system?

Nope just the autistic power of AEW fans

So... Kenny used the Kaioken against Okada at Dominion and is waiting until he goes Super Saiyan for the first time?

Dragonball fans are just as cringe as the rest. Anime was a mistake.

No you simp
Okada was SSJ but Kenny had to go SSJ2 with Kota's support to beat him because Okada's base form is much much stronger
Tanahashi beat him because he went SSJ but Kenny had forgotten how meaningful Kota was so during the match he failed to stay in even his SSJ form and dropped to base which is why Tanahashi won so quickly and concisely at the end with just a few moves.
