When you get taste.

>"but the memes"
fuck off and kill yourself

I wish the game played itself but default gambit system is far too restrictive. If I have the ability to cure multiple issues with one item/spell I shouldn't need to setup 10 gambits for "ally status = X cast/use Y".

Makes it look like YandereDev coding.

FF games are literally never ever fun. I play them when I have a hard time sleeping.

>If I have the ability to cure multiple issues with one item/spell I shouldn't need to setup 10 gambits for "ally status = X cast/use Y".
isn't that feature included in TZA version? You can assign "Remedy" to "Ally: Any", and the game will only cast Remedy when there's a status infliction

It doesn't.
Unless you like menage Gambit for over 60 boring hours

The dungeons have nice layouts and the bossfights with the Zodiacs are fun, that's about it.

It has been quite a while since I played it, but I'm fairly sure you can just turn gambits off and micro-manage every character. Why don't you do it, OP?

Are there any complex gambit setups? all my ai controlled dudes are set to attack party leaders target and then my white mage is set to cast cura when ally has

Literally don't use gambits if you don't want to see them used invalid

Making self-reliant gambit programs is part of the fun.

>playing the demake
The game plays itself but the dumbed down difficulty on the remaster makes it so that the game straight up masturbate itself

Acquire tastes

OP, listen
>Attack target: Nearest visible
That the ONLY gambit you need to set up. Cast magic and use items manually.

>Micromanage

It isn't even micromanagement it just plays like a regular ATB game. Skills suck in the game though, they're all way too situational and boring so you end up replying on basic bitch attack anyway.

How is the remake easier?

It'll cast it even if you don't have the ability to cure that ailment with Remedy. But even discounting the healing aspect, the same issue is present for literally all spells and abilities. There is no way to stop stealing from targeting creatures that don't have things to steal, no way to match damaging spells to weaknesses unless you make 12+ gambits all focused on vulnerabilities.

It gets better around 5 hours in I think it was? After you get out of the sewers. Gets pretty ood when you reach the Tower. The ending though moves back to the self.playing since your characters will be so strong that even the end boss can't kill them if you just put the right gambits on.
The optional bosses are damn hard tough and you will need to play properly to beat them if you go for them.

Never, the game is garbage.

Here we fucking go. It's an utterly dogshit game with an horrendous combat system

>FFXII has it's Gambit system
>"WAAAAAH THE GAME PLAYS ITSELF"
>Dragon Age Origins using the same exact system
>"Best game in the series no question, one of the greatest RPGs of all time"

Attached: 1650338681549.gif (220x224, 444.61K)

They get more complex the more you play and unlock more commands.

>gambit sets
Oh fug, is that a thing of TZA?

Mobs are weaker AND it also buffs the job system that IZJS added

OP thinks the memes are true which means he's convinced he must use optional features he doesn't like despite them being fully customizable to his liking

Assuming he isn't purely shitposting, he probably means that you can subclass in TZA, whereas you couldn't in IZJS. Still, both are more constraining than vanilla.

Yeah it's utter fucking nonsense.
>NOOOOOO this game has an optional feature which is fully customizable and I can choose how to engage with it! IT's TERRIBLE AAAHHH
fucking retards

Because every character can get two classes but the game is still balanced around every character having one class

They are not really more complex. You only ever get "If X than Y" arguments. They're only ever specific as well so you can use a range for anything. The most complex modifier is probably "targets 2+".

It's still more constraining than the vanilla game, and you can just choose to not subclass. Plus TZA includes Weak Mode, which you normally have to jump through hoops for in the other versions.

Oh how I wish ff7remake had gambits. The AI is so retarded.

But the game was originally balanced around having access to the entire fucking board, and even with those 2 classes you don't even get half the board. Like in the stock version of FF12 everyone could theoretically grind to use anything and everything. You get to pick two boards in the Zodiac version but there is no way for you to have access to that amount of stuff. Even casters and shit will just straight up miss out on specific black/white magic or weapons etc.

I play both of these games pretty manually and micromanage them. I have fun in my own ways.

>When does FF12 become fun?
It doesn't. I stopped at a certain point because they game was so fucking easy. FF12 is like a retarded cousin of DA: Origins. Not point in playing FF12 when DA:O exists.

mad af

IZJS rebalanced the game around its new class system. TZA didn't.

Attached: 1648635559693.jpg (853x1000, 237.31K)

Never. It’s a boring, uninspired slog that quite literally plays itself. I liked the level of exploration but the game is just so dull and brown I never make it more than 10 hours in. All the previous FFs had me at least somewhat invested in the experience within 5 hours.

>When does FF12 become fun?
user I have some bad news

>No argument
I accept your concession.

Lmao, rent-free, buddy. Go back to your auto-playing kiddie games. Speaking of, FF12 kinda remind me of modern snoy gam- I mean experiences.

None of the rereleases 'balanced' anything. There was never any change in enemy scripts or variables. The only difference between the versions is how many jobs you're allowed.

Never because reversal exist and auto combat. Good story though so if you can't get into that you're fucked

This works when the animation doesn't look like a group of geriatrics fighting with their walkers while awkwardly leaning into each other

It baffles me that they stopped entirely using it and just a handful of other games tried to replicate it, to varying degrees of success (the first dragon age comes to mind, but it was kind of buggy). I wonder why.

Oh, except for breaking the damage limit, which is a legitimate argument for the rereleases being more casual than vanilla.

What the fuck are you talking about?

I accept your sneethe and cope.

Damn, TZA menu looks gorgeous.

>playing the gay zoodiac version without the kino opening

Shiggy diggy
That opening is the only reason to play that trashy offline mmo
That and the fat asses I guess, but you need to be straight to enjoy that

It doesn't.

>No argument
Your concession is accepted

Did you fucking play the game or not? It's embarrassing to watch in full motion. It's as if there's a group of people surrounding a large rock, hitting it with a feather duster and then awkwardly stepping to the side over and over. You want customization up the ass? Fine then properly animate the combat that goes with it.

P-photoshop textures?
OH MY GOD SO GORGEOUS

Ai upscale textures oh my god so gorgeous
Who need that trashy opening and music from the original am I right?
Nice remake, squaregaynix
Just like Cross and X-X2 with the dumbed down music. Souless ass insects

>utterly dogshit game
Good gameplay contradicts that.

>horrendous combat system
Tactically relevant options is a bad thing?

The animations are really good for FF12, you must be thinking of something else

>"WAAAAAH THE GAME PLAYS ITSELF"
always ignore these retards

Attached: take your meds schizo.png (200x202, 26.86K)

never, it's a shit game, just play FFX or something else

>just play FFX
Why would anyone want to play a bad game.

play on NG-

If you don't enjoy the management aspect of the game, you won't like it.
I loved it, did almost everything, just loved exploring the scenario, doing the hunts, talking with NPCs, the character designs, the fighting animations, it looked and felt like a "next gen" game at the time.
It's a comfy trip in a fantasy World, it's not an action game if that's your idea of fun.

Attached: 1641729974058.jpg (1500x2121, 820.8K)

Consider the following: Penelo's butt.

Attached: penelo (3).jpg (1024x1449, 146.94K)

I don't see the bad game in his post

nta but there's definitely lack of weight in the combat animations, you don't get that visceral feel of laying into an enemy, just watching a fairly decently animated sword swing and seeing numbers pop up, there's a yt vid somewhere i cba to find

Consider the following: weird brown shitstains on her shoulders.

>playing FF7 modded
>don't really get the materia system so just slot everyone's materia based on what class I think they look like

it's always going to play itself for the most part, that won't change and only becomes more the case as the game goes on and you get more gambit options.
the game becomes fun when you're able to access most of the hunts and espers to fight, that's the fun part of the game, so a significant way through

It's called FFX.

>so a significant way through
You get two hunts before you even get Penelo, and they just exponentially increase.

the only bad FFs are 2, 8, and 15

>the only bad FFs are
1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 14, 15

Never, it's terrible. The contrarian game de jour. It's weird, because all the pieces of a good game are there; they're just not assembled correctly. Also, fuck Vaan

3,12 and 13. Sorry. That's reality.

Attached: Final_Fantasy_XII_13_artwork.jpg (1128x1199, 700.6K)

No, see:

>de jour
Which discord is responsible for this particular NPC code?

>all the pieces of a good game are there
Like having decent gameplay which FF doesn't do?

>NOOOOO IF YOU WON'T BE CONTRARIAN WITH ME YOU'RE A DISCORD

>Like having decent gameplay
>FF12
>the one with the WORST gameplay in the series
>so bad they had to re-release it with a new job system
HAHAHAHA

ff12 sucked dick back in the day, it sucks dick now. Of course faggots like it; it sucks dick.

It's like a child learning a new term and constantly using it (incorrectly). It's very obvious.

>the memes about the game
How old are you, OP?

>I'm early in the game, but the memes about the game playing itself are true so far
First Final Fantasy game?

>sky pirates
>travel by foot

All he needed was a shirt.

Attached: What an oddity.png (1104x881, 595.79K)

>incorrectly
de and du are both correct. Get schooled you retarded faggot. No wonder you like FF12; you're completely retarded.

>cry about pedantic shit
>but be wrong yourself
LOL

>>Like having decent gameplay
>>FF12
Yes, so follow along for once.

>the one with the WORST gameplay
When did XII have KoTR?

>they had to re-release it
Nothing wrong with improved re-releases. Square doesn't usually make good games but they sometimes figure out what was important (good combat). No definitively ultimate weapon bullshit, catered to low level runs, bosses had good gimmicks (making them unique), had super bosses that weren't just damage sponges (Judge free for all, Omega), fast paced, Trial Mode, tons of good builds, NG- etc.

They travel by airship in the game though. Also Vaan wants to be a sky pirate, but he only becomes one by the DS spinoff

Not him but you sound like a tranny

>it's good because....it just is, okay?

kek, I never even saw that response because most of my filters catch troonposts.

Nice not argument.

The only problem with 12 is that it's noticeably incomplete. The game ends exactly at the point in the story where a typical FF game would switch to disc 2 with a big twist (fight the Occuria).
