Explain to me why am I physically unable to play anything that isnt a STR build
Explain to me why am I physically unable to play anything that isnt a STR build
you are not a weeb
you're a big dumb
Because you're mentally incredibly boring and cannot adapt to different scenarios
i have the same problem.
Try the STR talisman and catalyst with low int&faith spells for some variance.
>this is what INTcels tell themselves
>post weeb guts greatsword
>you are not a weeb
Dude what? Of course you can
because you dont really like videogames , you just play them to pass the time and just do the bare minimum in them, you dont invest time exploring everything you are capable to do
Might be a severe attention deficit disorder, lack of any patience to hit things more than once, or just a natural tendency for the objectively gigachad route.
Dex is just STR with extra steps and no actual impact behind rinky dinky weapons.
INT is a wholly different game. I liked my INT playthrough, because rotating through your spell-list for the correct tool for the job was fun, but I was often wondering how I would've been long done with whatever I'm fighting now as my STR run.
FTH looks cool, but beyond that, felt very weak.
boring and gay
int isnt much better, you just cast hold a staff up instead of swinging a weapon
really boring gameplay and arguably less skilled than any form of melee combat tbqh
>Thinking I level just Int alone
See? Incredibly boring. All you can do is grug smash and rollpoke.
Im literally doing a second playthrough with the objective of exploring all the map this time
I tried the DEX +INT build and it was so lame
I don't know. I just like focusing on one stat. I play pure STR or pure INT or pure FTH or pure DEX. Jack of all trades builds don't interest me.
good for you, anyone who doesnt want to play as a strength gigachad is a fag.
>lack of any patience to hit things more than once,
thats the one for me
i just wish limbs got cut when using weapons . maybe i would be more prone to use small swords to chop to pieces enemies
They're a lot of fun. I'm enjoying my ER Str playthrough right now. Dodging stuff with Raptor of the Mist and doing block counters is very satisfying.
t. INTfag
>children making game
It's the fun way to play a Souls game. Everything else is boring.
Meanwhile wears the white mask and dual-wields katanas
Staggering stuff is fun.
>stagger beast by slapping its ass
>come back around to land the critical hit
>it's already recovered
many such cases
That's why hybrid builds are the patrician choice
I just use the opportunity to get in another charge attack
Because you are simply man, just like me.
I like how it's looking at you like, yep I kinda fucked up.
I'm a simple man, I lead a simple life.
Same. I told myself for once I'll go for a dex build when I play ER and ended up using the dex oongaboonga smash weapon. I just cant deal with the fast swish swash pokey pokey of dex weapons.
This is my STR build
Why does everyone tell me mages are easy mode so I tried a caster and this shits hard. I think it's the summons. A mage with summons is probably ridiculous. Also I'm not comet azuring shit.
>if you limit yourself the games harder
I know, duh, but I had had no summons on my str build and it was fine. Even pvp is harder unless your playing a tard.
say I want to play dex/faith, primarily hitting stuff with incantations for a few extra tricks. what are some important stat cutoffs I should be going for in dex and faith?
>Berserk
>Weeb
No
Strength weapons are too slow and don't do enough damage to make up for it. My +10 Regalia of Eochaid does more DPS than my +10 Godslayers Greatsword (the former attacks 20 times in 15 seconds at 600 damage, while the latter attacks 12 times in 15 seconds at 650 damage).
I switched dex to strength and it take a lot of patience. I don't know how you fuckers do it.
It's kinda hard if you aren't used to it
It's the first souls game I go for an int build, although I went for Str Int for the dmgs
Early game is easy against normal mobs but hard against bosses since they dodge your glinstone pebble. The magic sword does a ton of dmg tho
>unable to play on easy mode
you should..try a different hobby
Fth's issue is that it's very lategame heavy; early game all you get is Golden Halberd for Str-Fth, Winged Scythe for Dex-Fth and MAYBE Cipher Pata for pure Fth, and if you don't like any of the three, fuck you, hope you enjoy some slow ass Incants that are worse than Sorceries. Late game once Electric armaments and Fire armaments like Magma Wyrm's Scalesword, Magma Blade and the almighty fucking Blasphemous Blade unlock, we start cooking, and we get funny weapons like Envoy's Longhorn that are surprisingly viable too. But like I said they all ask you to reach Altus first.
what is the closest thing I can pick up that resembles Gael's broken sword? it would go well with that red hoodie I found
Dex Faith is the sleeper STR build with
Lol no way str was easy mode compared to this. Literally all you need is redmanes and raptor of the mists and your unstoppable
10 for the bare minimum, using a seal and heal
12 I think for flame cleanse me and basic fire bitch stuff and bloodlfame blade
15 for flame grant me strength
17 for lightning spear
20 for black flame
25 for golden vow
Don't care
Didn't ask
Slicer and swift shard are great. And an
The sword the bell hunters use
Meant to add and ancient death rancor
how do you make a fucking faith nigger for pvp, I am currently extremely underwhelming at times
the armor and gsgs are non negotiable but I will talk to this bitch or kill some random dragon for a spell right now
>High End
Eh, can't be helped, if you want that armor you gotta commit to your armor. Then commit to either Str or Dex, depending on which scales better for your weapon. I recommend Str because then you can leverage Clawmark Seal for Str scaling Incants. Dex-Fth's biggest weakness is a lack of good Dex scaling seals.
>Bloodhound's step
YOU
Get the dragon incantations an invade in tide places.
Once you're in the chadzone its hard to get out
this
having as many options as you can is objectively the best choice if you're not minmaxing or doing a challenge run of some sort, simply because you're going to run into things where option A won't work well when option B will clean house, and vice versa
Nigger, people using bloodhound step just proof dodge roll is boring as fuck, get new material.
I could shave of maybe 5 end for something else
I need the dumb quality str/dex split to use both the greatshield and treespear, 34/24 iirc is the bare minimum for my crap
I will consider this tyvm user
A true int build would use all of the tools at their disposal.
There's a balancing act, over generalize and you end up doing many things poorly, overspecialize and breed in weakness.
Damn, split damage really is a bitch, isn't it?
I always run STR or quality melee. I've never seen the point to magic in Souls shit. Its not thought provoking since especially in the early games its just back pedaling against bad AI that just walks at you until it dies. In later games its about the same but with less viable options. But the interactions are always always the same. Melee isn't complex but you are always in their face adapting to the pattern and learning to deal with a majority of their tools before you succeed. There is nothing a magic build can do that i need since i can equip a bow and pull enemies or throw a useable item in the few instances i need to. I also can level vigor/life well focusing on less stats and instead primarily focusing on playing the game itself and not the build. I like big weapons so i usually pick them. But sometimes i go with something that scales with both.
>it's THAT BAD
jfc literally why
>You don't like video games because when you play Fromtranny shit you only use big cool weapons.
You really need to stop being so delusional with what you assume your interactions are. This is a big issue with braindead players like you you assume your pew pew shit is anything more then uninteractive back pedal gameplay. Its like a baby mode RPG version of playing a Serious Sam game.
>but with less viable options
nigga have you seen the magic in this game
and no I don't just mean kamehamea
>192 days of bethesda shillingwake me up
Elden Ring is literally the first game where magic is actually interesting instead of just projectile spells being the only ones worth using.
I seek damage/reward for said damage and prioritize it over recovery frames in some cases. That being said ER dex is better with bleed weapons because with high arcane you essentially have all the benefits of STR builds against bosses with alittle less stagger damage but 1/3rd the recovery frames.
I should have added the Ruins Greatsword : 917 AR, deals 889 damage, slightly less than the hammer.
The WA kinda makes up for it of course, dealing 1600 dmg in a long aoe ligne.
Split damage is higher damage when weak and still decent but weaker damage when the enemy is neutral to it, and all you need are the minimum requirements for your weapon, and then just put the rest into the stat of your choice. It makes sense, Strength and Dexterity get full physical damage and a higher variety of weapons which is only resisted by a handful of enemies but get none of the benefits of Intelligence and Faith.
big sword is fun
I've had the same sentiment too for ages. What's the point in doing 2x the damage a swing if the faster weapon has 3x as many safe opportunities to apply damage. And gets a free 25% chunk of the lifebar once in a while.
Split damage seems to be almost always way higher in general if points are spread evenly for the comparison. My greatsword was like 650 AR before swapping to faith now at 800 AR
I think it will always be better PvP wise but most bosses at the end game resist holy and fire which may make the pure str better for them. Haven't tested extensively,
Resistances and weaknesses are really important too. You should use elemental weapons situationally or for their weapon arts.
Pure physical can also slather on some some spicy grease to hit weaknesses a little.
I am like you, but putting some points in Faith to enchant the weapon will make it funnier and give you more buffs.
Im gonna try to go full cannonball or archer in other run.
Yeah idk and this isn't really a good comparison. Standard/holy damage vs strike damage on an enemy weak to strike
I wished I'd have beefed up a bunch of str weapons before doing ng+ but was unhappy with the damage output and speed of attack on the colossal/great weapons. I'd like to give a pure str build a try
I did my first playtrough with a DEX curved greatsword build and then went for INT the second.
First I smoked margit and godrick but now I'm getting walled by fucking rennala, half of my spells cant reach her from a safe distance (pebble) or have eternal cast times (lorettas bow). Even the magic greatsword takes a full second to swing and deals a third of the damage the BHGS did.
Is the easy mode meme just about comet azur or am i just shit at magic?
Run to caelid and grab night comet and offhand staff of loss
It does the most damage in the game by far without azur
>Is the easy mode meme just about comet azur
Yes but also the entirety of that legacy dungeon resists magic so you just have to deal with it. You're better off stagger locking Rennala with a magic scaling melee weapon anyway. She has superiority at range.
Rock Sling does physical damage.
