not him but explain, i haven't played it past the first two levels
So Yooka-Laylee is getting a sequel. Not TIL, I mean a 3D platformer:
>Tencent
Oh no, it's over.
Too lazy to write this up again so I'll just copy and paste this old reply I wrote last year
>levels are so easy they're incredibly uninteresting
>except for he impossible lair itself, which goes way too far into the other direction (30 minute level with three boss fights why)
>doors are a constant pace breaker
>mostly reuses the same three level gimmicks - buzzsaws, windmills and conveyor belts
>mostly uses three level themes - forests, factories and towns
>shitty camera keeps hiding things like lava or twit coins
>generic enemy designs
>mostly reuses the same enemies - generic blue guys, generic green guys in jetpacks and giant crabs with other enemies only appearing very rarely
>controls feel unsatisfying and weightless, no good sense of momentum
>laylee is a shitty health system because she gets stuck on terrain or clips through terrain constantly, she disappears way too quickly unless you use the catchee tonic and if you lose her you might as well kill yourself because she's required for a lot of twit coins
>tonics are mostly useless
>twit coins are a pain to get because they keep reusing that "gotta jump off an enemy that doesn't respawn" setup or require laylee
>without a tonic you lose coins on death even though they're mandatory for progression
>overworld was alright but puzzles were mostly uninteresting "take X thing to Y location" affairs
>those overworld puzzles you literally can't solve without looking them up online, the game literally tells you to do this
>side characters were forgettable and the writing is meh
>incredibly buggy at launch - capital b accidentally being unkillable, no spawn animations for enemies, getting stuck on terrain, clipping out of bounds etc
TIL was great and so was the music, so much better than the first game
First things first they need to redesign a lot of things.
Starting with this crap. The main collectable needs to be something gold, shiny or visually appealing.
because I don't want to collect this shit. Jiggies were satisfying, these scraps of paper aren't.
and they need a proper 'GET' animation like mario, banjo1, jak and daxter ect. things just flying around you make it seem even more worthless as a collectable.
I stopped enjoying YL when I saw how absolutely shit the not-talon trot controls were.
well you can see what i thought about it in the post above yours. i honestly don't know which game is better cause i really don't like both, which is funny cause i wanted to like both before i played them but just couldn't get invested in either
Okay
>tencent
Pass.
Impossible Lair was like a Tropical Freeze clone if you took out everything remotely fun or interesting.
