I did, for a while until i bought 3070ti and my display drivers on linux shitted itself(it was persistent to the point of having to put off and on my HDMI to monitor to make it work on Windows again)
Probably had to update nvidia drivers before switching from 1066 to 3070ti on it's release.
Will get back the moment VR on Linux gets better, i really loved default desktop gaming experience

It's just not though.
I'm a goddamn smoothbrain and I switched over during the linus meme tips challenge. After relearning some of 'how a computer works' it's not any more difficult than on windows and it just runs faster for most things. Proton is fairly easy to support and devs that dont are often activly blocking it.
If most of your games are on steam/gog and their not big AAA multiplayer games they should just werk.

I tried switching to linux, partitioned part of an SSD over to arch, got steam working, played a few games from proton but I couldn't figure out how to seed my torrents from my 3 NTFS HDDs, wasn't about to reformat them, that would be too much of a pain, so I just went back to windows.

They have a much easier installation process than they used to, the meme is more or less outdated at this point.

I like to play japanese and obscure stuff and those games never just work on linux, there was always dumb crap like cutscenes not working or the game inexplicably being stuck on a white screen when i would open it with lutris but when i tried vanilla wine it worked fine or everything seemingly working except for some character textures being broken for no reason, it got annoying so i went back to windows
I'll gladly come back when stuff like that just doesn't happen anymore

Last played Lovely Planet. Had to take a brake since that game requires a lot of twitchy, fast movements and I don't want to hurt my wrist.
I also do my artwork and other creative projects on Linux, since I was already using FOSS software.

If you do that it will nag you every now and then, fuck, even thinking of modern Windows makes me so mad. I'm glad Linux got its shit together and made games work.

Why? The minute you connect to the web they will bomb you with sign-in requests then water mark your desktop.
