Yeah, I actually think it's a great game, it's just a terrible fucking way to experience Final Fantasy VII for the first time.
If it was called something like Final Fantasy VII Reunion, I'd have little to complain about. It's a sequel. Market it as one.

After playing it a second time I never pick upon on how much Aerith knows what's going on while cloud and everyone else is having flashbacks to things that has happened in some form or another. One instance that stood out where Cloud gets pissed and says to Aerith, "Don't act like you know me".
