Melee

It's not that Melee was never good. It's that its fans don't want to admit it has flaws and that those bring the game down.

They want to see the game and the community thrive, but they don't really want to see, or even think it's possible for, the game itself to improve.

There's no direction and no sense of progress outside of the narrative within and surrounding the game that primarily concerns its playerbase.

It's more like Nintendo's never made a good game.

Shut up

what the fuck are you talking about? everyone acknowledges its flaws

why do think people have custom rulesets and modded games (with increasing calls for further adjustments to the games akin to freezing stadium, etc.)

Its flaws are what makes it good

>everyone acknowledges its flaws
A more appropriate way of phrasing the OP would be "is flawed". Lots of people want to claim Melee is perfect despite its flaws, or because of its flaws , when actually, it is a deeply flawed game.

no, it's not deeply flawed. deep implies some underlying problem when that is no what melee's flaws are.
melee's flaws are buggy stages and interactions as well as unfinished characters (G&W)

>don't want to admit it has flaws and that those bring the game down.
everyone does
>but they don't really want to see, or even think it's possible for, the game itself to improve.
new shit is found out about the game even in current year

You're just retarded. You got my (you) so bait successful

what did thie post even mean and what the fuck are you talking about

>no, it's not deeply flawed. deep implies some underlying problem when that is no what melee's flaws are.
You're demonstrating here the point of the OP. The only thing Melee fans can visualize are superficial improvements, and only in relatively simplistic terms---they are incapable of recognizing underlying problems and accepting that the game must have those issues rectified if it is to become its best self.

But again, the conversations now mostly revolve around how the community is "improving", while the game's quality is taken for granted.
