No, it's the single greatest example of "wasted potential" that I have ever seen. If it weren't for the game's combat and movement systems, which are honestly some of the best in gaming, the game would've long ago been buried by Digital Extreme's incompetence, negligence, and sometimes outright malice. 20-30 hours in you will have seen everything the game has to offer, after that it's just crafting and leveling the hundreds of slightly different weapons and frames of vastly varying quality and effectiveness. Any fun synergies or interactions between equipment have been patched out as "bugs" or "exploits" just because DE was too stupid to think of them. And if you try to criticize them then they'll treat you to a suspension or even ban, especially in their hugbox that they cultivated on the forums.

It's good while it lasts but the direction of development went off the deep-end when it started to generalize balance and focus on "quick, bite-sized sessions" aka "fuck any decent level and mission design ever again, here's a one-track mission objective, now faceroll your keyboard until you can extract." Because of this there's nothing attractive about grinding since 90% of the content plays the same and requires no strategy other than spamming your abilities/weapons at will, all players have adopted a mentality of getting out of the mission as soon as possible (even in mission types where you are meant to stay and grind), you constantly have to load in and out of short rushed-through missions, and any 'long' missions have been conditioned to be tedious and tiresome to grind.
Following the previous remarks, their level designers also went full retard and didn't take advantage of the parkour/bullet jump system when it was new, instead they continued to add levels and terrain that is merely designed to be walked around in and you can just bullet jump over the entire room, rendering all of their efforts and artist details pointless. This kind of disconnect between gameplay and design is commonplace for the developers because their development process is especially retarded. They only compensated for the advanced mobility twice - making an entire tileset so fucking cramped that trying to even navigate it let alone parkour through is a total headache, and then making a couple new rooms in their most recent tileset revamp require some bullet jumping and literally pitching it as a selling point.
So again it's good while it lasts and to be fair it is a decent time-waster. But once the glamour wears off and you had your fun with whichever frames and weapons, there is nothing to do but go through the motions over and over with each new update. I would liken it to mobage-levels of depth but these days even some mobile games have more complexity than this game.

They removed the only peace of end game content (raids) and replaced it with basically nothing. Also the powercreep is all over the game and it simply is not fun to play outside the first few mission where the enemies still pose a thread to you but as soon as you start equipping mods the enemies may as well just drop dead.
Also there's no real content, it's all meaningless fluff.

Switch population is decent depending on peak hours. Obviously the PC community is larger by far but if you can round up some friends or get into a clan, you should be alright.
