hard mode: no shitposting unless you've even played a minute of the game
nightmare mode: no discussion of "LGBT" outside of its role in a twist
also who's finished the game and understands the implications of the final twist?

I really feel bad for anyone who watches even a single webm of this game out of context before playing the game, because what made me really enjoy the game was going in with zero expectations aside from "Uchikoshi game"
who even needs context?
What final twist? Shifting?
Ending was pretty good, but i expected more of a twist or ending.
Is Date a Shifter?
How does he know what happend in other timelines?
I guess just a joke from Uchi
>the warehouse shootout event
I'm a shitter and I like routes getting locked when I'm on them. Which route gets locked the fastest? I've already done Mizuki's route and went back to Ota's psync
specific details of how the dead character comes back to life because it implies Iris was right about the alien AI conspiracy. the game drops /pol/esque redpills then writes it off as tumor-induced literal mental illness but then that final, just-before-final-credits twist happens and you think it's just a last-minute fanservice asspull to make for a happy ending (reinforced by the following song lol) but if you think about it, Aiba really is an iteration of an alien AI whose distributed nature endured against what was intended to be complete deletion, including all backups. hopefully we all get cyber eyeballs that project AI waifus for us when our alien AI overlords eventually subsume our species
there's only a handful of branching points and then the game becomes essentially linear (in terms of progression, not story) for the back half or so.
theres like only two locks
I completely missed the ARG for this game, is it worth it to go back and check it out now that i've completed it?
Not really iirc.
>this whole post
Would be nice If I could actually play the game beyond a fucking black screen
Guess I'm refunding this
How is this on switch?
idk, it's never elaborated on also not really a spoiler but there's no "you, the player" character/entity referenced this time around
it's mostly fine but for sixty dollars I honestly expected a bit better in terms of port quality. flashbacks are ALWAYS shown as fully-rendered 3D rendered to a slightly low-res 2D rendertarget, which is cool, but they load it really inefficiently (don't preload it at all), so you'll be going through dialog sometimes and press A to advance it, and it stalls for like ten seconds (you can still move the camera around) while it loads that entire scene. sometimes, especially later in the game when it's going over a lot of events that have led up to this point, you'll load one of these flashback scenes for ten seconds, only for it to disappear two dialog boxes later. not deal-breaker but it's annoying. also I had maybe three crashes, just like VLR and ZTD, BUT!!!!! this time there's autosave, so you don't get fucked like you did in those games.
I have no idea if these issues exist on the PC version as well, you'd think they wouldn't but idk. regardless I really enjoyed my 27.5 hours with the switch version and am satisfied with my purchase, I just wish the slight jank was a bit better
Is the PS4 version censored?
there's nothing to censor
How do I get the other path out of this Psync?
I figure that I have to not listen to Iris. But I can't find any other way forward.
which part can you not find a way besides the 'normal' way?
the "path UI" lies to you on this one
I think it starts when she wants you to craft the disco ball, just craft the other thing that's available. From then on just keep ignoring what she says and find other things to do.
I did the part where Aiba shuts off the projection but I can't find the "wrong" way to do the part after that.
>find other things to do.
That's the thing. I did the first step but I can't find anything else to do.
based and classic strategy guidepilled
the fuck are you on about
Interact with ??? and it should be obvious
I might be missing a step but I think you need to talk to some guy in a house, he gives you some mask. Then you use the mask to craft something
Are you fucking kidding? I thought that was a gag.
How is Mizuki a fujoshi.
Explain it to me.
abstract hint, abstract hint, "here's what you do"
idk man I found this psync to be the easiest one in the game after maybe the first one, the next one's gonna fuck you up lol
holy fuck did you even read, it says the face is a material after interacting
>kick the coat hanger
Pls no bully. This psync crashed 5 times and I just want out of minecraft hell.
what platform? and also have you done the "believe her" branch yet?
PC and yes, I followed that path to the end so now I'm going backwards to explore the other branches.
that's more crashes than I had on my entire switch playthrough damn
The branches that result from lifting the cage over the torn photo in the first psync and hitting the tv in the second psync before any others but especially before the hitting TV/not believing psync routes.
Too late
no it's not, you can just flowchart back to them and then pick up where you left off.
ah I did the exact opposite of what you did for both early choices. well spoiler alert you have like one branching choice left and the game is semi-disappointingly linear from there
Man that sucks, graphics are not impressive. Thanks, i might wait for a discount
>I have no idea if these issues exist on the PC version as well,
PC player whose played several hours, I think those issues are unique to either the switch or console versions because I haven't had any issue.
I play almost exclusively on handheld and thought the game looked really good desu, I expected maybe slightly better ZTD in higher res in terms of tech, but imo the characters look great, the psync sequences range from ok to really cool, and the overall look and feel of the game is great. but I can understand waiting for a discount, just do yourself a favor and avoid reading anything about the game until then, because I feel like this is one of those games that if you go in knowing the memes in advance, it's significantly less enjoyable lol
just finished it
it was enjoyable but the plot twist was predictable and some asspulls were dumb
overall ok but not worth the current price
Best uchikoshi game. If you liked Yakuza or Judgement, you will like this game.
fair, what do you think about this tho
personally I liked the game's frequently light tone in contrast to ZTD's grimdark edge (even tho i'm one of six people who don't hate ZTD)
do you think it's the most accessible for people who haven't played a uchikoshi game? I think it might be but also it might give you the impression that all the games are as overt with their humor/light tone, such that going back and playing the earlier games isn't as enjoyable
wew
Definitely the most accessible one. Infinity series isn't that much darker. Only Remember11 has that constant oh fuck tone.
The other series rely too much on Wikipedia infodumps so if you aren't into sci fi shit you might get turned off.
Hey have you guys seen Renju around?
-pop up of Renju adjusting his collar pops up on the screen-
Left route first or Right route? I'm on my 1st playthrough rn and doing Iris but i feel like i'm not supposed to be doing it as my first
I also did Iris first. Either left or right is fine desu.
I say left first desu. Right spoils a bit too much and if you get to the true lock they literally throw the massive plot twist right in your face.
How do you not believe Iris? It seems like you need to carry over the pickaxe to the last section, but idk how to do it
fair, an user in a thread last night said he was ready to drop his presumably pirated copy in the Iris route when she and Ota drop infodumps for a bit there as they fuck with your perception of what the rules of this game's universe are going to be. I thought that stuff was all well-done and yeah I think you're right, as long as the person you're recommending the game to won't be turned off/offended by dirty humor
I went left first then worked my way right but it doesn't really matter, you get funneled into a basically linear back half of the game after you pick off the first few endings
left spoils a ton too when you find out that the congressman is "your" father
read the thread lul
This feels a lot more zany than the usual stuff
Dont know how to feel about that
i love this post
personally nothing feels as tense or involving compared to 999/VLR or even Danganronpa. The setting not being trapped in a location and all the characters not at constant risk of dying (as far they know) makes the stakes feel very low.
Completing the Psyncs doesn't feel remotely as satisfying as progressing through a Danganronpa Court Battle, completing the harder puzzles in Zero Escape or even putting the case together in Phoenix Wright.
I don't play visual novels outside of the ones with puzzles/gameplay (such as the above games) so the extremely easy and generally anti-climatic psync scenes really bring the game down for me.
Left first Psync
Hit TV second Psync
Do the routes that result from that, then do the routes that result from going right at the very first psync, then tune the TV.
So did Date get the best ending?
You sound like a complete retard. You're used to objectively bad games like Danganronpa and even some Zero Escape games so you're not used to good stories.
>personally nothing feels as tense or involving compared to 999/VLR or even Danganronpa
you didn't play this game did you
not an argument
Anyone actually love the action scenes or is it just me? The porn gag never gets old.
PORNNNN MAGGGGG
ITS A GIFT FROM HEAVEN
does japan actually have a gacha magazines lmfao
not believing iris before believing iris is the better way to play btw
it felt off to me at first too but I embraced it and found it to be a fresh take on his style after he spent two games trying to be grimdark but not being allowed, then he finally got to go as far as he wanted and most people didn't like it. imo this story has a lot of heart and personal rumination on the modern world
yeah he canonically got Receptionist Ending
I play the same games but with the opposite reason, the "gameplay" parts just feel like interesting filler. Phoenix Wright was fine, Danganronpa was a fun series of iterations on that same idea, and ZE has always been ok, but yeah, the gameplay in these games is mostly filler for storytelling for me. some of the ZE puzzles got especially frustrating for me but that was kind of the point given the setting and lore, the puzzles being largely easier this time around while instead focusing on being artistically interesting, idk, just worked for me I guess
>Danganronpa was a fun series of iterations on that same idea,
It was a bootleg Ace Attorney with even worse gameplay aspects.
I fucking loved the game all the way through to the credits and then that entire song and dance routine fucking killed me. Uchikoshi what the fuck are you thinking.
Definitely not. Why spoil iris has a brain tumor making her say weird shit early better. At least in the believe route, you're kinda oh fuck is she really telling the truth? Can't be but I'll go along for the ride.
>yeah he canonically got Receptionist Ending
>implying he wouldn't have Seito coming after him to get his body back
I could take on a comedic spin off where Date completely foils Seito's keikaku by fucking off with receptionist and then repeatedly ruins his subsequent plans to get his body back.
lol how is DR worse than AA? I only played the first 2 and a half AA games and again found their court sequences to be totally fine for what they were, but found DR1's base court gameplay to be objectively superior to AA's. I can take or leave the series' increasingly dumb minigames but AA's court gameplay is lame by comparison
That would be kino. Especially when Saito will have to search far and wide for his body and not know that his body is being used for receptionist impregnating
>but found DR1's base court gameplay to be objectively superior to AA's. I can take or leave the series' increasingly dumb minigames but AA's court gameplay is lame by comparison
Confirmed underaged.
I don't want to start down the true ending path before I finish all the other routes, which one is it so I know to avoid it?
lol whatever fag I played the games on DS
I'll bet AA1 was your first VN
You'll know once Date and Hitomi head to the abandoned factory.
The one all the way to the right
More specific:
Cage with balloons and then don't believe
isn't it impossible to get true end before getting all other ends (except receptionist end)
Better than having Babyronpa being my first VN like you. Go back to class, kiddo.
ok cool, I just did the don't believe Iris choice, so I'll stop before I progress any further
Best route
Photo
>Hit tv
>Forklift solution
>Hit tv
>Chain solution
Balloon
>Believe Iris
Then
>Do not believe Iris /lock
Then back to photo
>Turn the tv on
>True route after that.
Yes but like this you can avoid getting cliffhangered on the final path
>accuses someone of being underage
>turns out AA was his first VN
>is illiterate and lacks reading comprehension to the point where he still accuses that person of having DR as his first VN, despite him clearly having said he played AA on DS before that, and cleraly implied having played other VNs before THAT
kys in ShovelForge fag
>gaga goo goo
I don't understand baby speak
>can't talk to someone or go into someone's house because lol no warrant
>can forcibly sedate and use invasive medical equipment to alter their brain
and I don't pretend like AA is the pinnacle of the VN genre/medium like a literally unfertilized egg like you
I did believe Iris first, so I probably know a ton more, but I'll do the rest of the routes this way, thanks user
Do you want your lunchables?
do you want a sperm to fertilize you so you can become a complete human being?
Based AIBS.
Thanks, will do, I really want to play it portable, dont feel these games in ps4
sorry didnt read the thread, but what is your general opinion on this game? is it good? as in well written and fun to play? i dont care about that one LGBT dialogue or whatever
do you unironically enjoy Uchikoshi's writing? how would you feel about One Of His Games but one that isn't too ambitious with its high-concept mindfucky metaphysical twists, while also being a lot lighter and more humorous in tone sometimes and dark as ZTD other times? I found it to be a really fun ride and maybe my favorite of his games to date, but I didn't hate ZTD so my opinion is probably invalid
I enjoyed it. Your call though whether a 20 hour game is worth the price.
Why is Chad Ziodynecock in this game
Pewter just told me how if you stay too long in Somnium, you pull a Captain Ginyu.
Based on what I've seen so far, my guess right now is Date and 89 body swapped and Date's mind is Iris's Uncle's Without elaborating/correcting anything, can I get a yes/no?
Is Uchikoshi autistic ?
tbf if you finish it in 20 hours or under you didn't read all of the optional text in the game and probably missed most of the best Aiba animations.
not incorrect but it is a bit more convoluted than that
you tell me
Not quite
Nigga you're off. By like a wide margin.
I mean this was fine because it was in Iris' somnium, but The same fucking scene with all of the characters popping out of nowhere at the docks, and even Date himself dancing at the end ?
Would have been my favourite uchi game if it wasn't for that.
real talk was the merman near the small island voiced by kojima or not
>not incorrect
>not quite
>you're way off
finish the game nigga the ruse cruise is literally what makes the game enjoyable
what do you think of this
You need to get to the true route to figure out the truth. But honestly if you paid attention to the other routes it becomes clear the truth behind Date.
>best character in game has hitler mustache
I miss him bros. Why did he have to die?
so that his son can hotglue A-set figures
Was half-expecting Date to call Pewter a faggot when he got mad at him.
I played through Snatcher recently. Is this similar?
no
Am I the only person who enjoys all of Uchikoshi's adventure games but can't stand slice of life scenes in his VNs, which greatly lower my ability to sit through Remember 11 and Ever 17.
>Remember11
>Slice of life
How long is the game? One route I guess I'm asking
I fucking hate Ota so goddamn much
Yes.
>Footage of the mermaid feeding Ota starts playing
What's the twist with the lgbt stuff?
The dad of the girl you adopted is a gay couple with your coworker who dresses like a Pokemon villian
finished my first route in about six hours iirc because I took my time, completed the game in 27.5 hours
Date is gay
honestly can't believe uchi has the balls to namedrop both Project Blue Beam and "Rothschild," absolutely based
How similar is this game from the three Zero Escape titles? Is it more "grounded" like 999, or more sci-fi like VLR or batshit what like ZTD?
Punchline-tier
It's more grounded than any of them but it ends with a baffling ridiculous song and dance routine straight out of a musical
>more grounded than any of them
top fucking kek
The only sci fi element is mindswapping via an established machine ingame. It's not paranormal ESP mumbo jumbo with flexible rules like zero escape where by ZTD it goes into MINDHACC and EVERYONE'S A SHITTER, HOLOGRAM WALLS, ROBOTS, HIDDEN MAN BEHIND CAMERA.
well that itself is a spoiler because they toy with your expectations for how the universe works for like half of the game before settling on that, but also, did you miss the over-the-top wacky action sequences?
Yeah, in VLR when Phi did the huge jump it had some explanation behind it, in this Mizuki and Date too basically fly around without anyone mentioning it.
>there is only a single route where Ota dies
this is so fucking unfair
is 89 voiced (in english) by the same guy that did Delta?
I wish he choked on the omurice
i normally hate le tsundere girl archetype but holy shit every SINGLE INTERACTION with mizuki has me laughing my ass off
>JUST EAT AN ERASER
Yes, and to take it a step farther he IS Delta. That explains how he knows what is happening in other timelines, he mind hacks (somnium scans) the collective unconsciousness.
It's a crime that best dad died for that ungrateful prick.
Tbqh. They really never explained how Date was able to remember those things from different timelines. It really does feel like ZE SHIFTing to me and Uchikoshi DID say he'd be down for ZE4 if fans want it.
Is the game actually good or what?
Mizuki is best girl.
>She wrote those lyrics for a child suffering from a brain tumor.
Based
But is it as good as 999/ZE
>the literal faggot goes to jail at the end
I wonder what they meant by this
and does anyone have an idea when did Date's obsession with porno mags begin? it couldn't be back when he was killing people and shit
fuck
I didn't consider it while playing but it might be a setup for a possible sequel. Don't think it will directly connect to ZE, especially considering that AI takes place in 2019.
Porno mags are a part of his soul
We also never got anything on NAIXATLOZ either. Calling it now. If this game gets a sequel, it will involve this cult and it will turn out that Saito was apart of it or they're the reason why Sato's mom died of childbirth and why Saito has that brain defect
Also we'll do something about changing the past to where all the cyclop killings never happened
Now I'm sad.
Date was always a perv.
They'll find some way. Uchikoshi is weird like that.
>NAIXATLOZ
Holy shit I forgot about them. They were advertised before the game even came out yet with those A-Set videos but not a single peep from them in the game itself.
>Sequel
Nope
Did you forget?
In the middle of development He and Kodaka(DR dude) opend a new studio to create new games
I got to that retarded dance bit at the end and I'm a bit confused. How is Hitomi moving her right arm?
Nanomachines
if they really really want to do it I'm sure they can, that studio's in the credits and one of their projects is a collab, although I think I might prefer this being self-contained
NANOMACHINES SON
Nigga did you forget? He said himself he wrote the true ending just in case a sequel comes into consideration. He also said he'd be down for ZE4. Kodaka also said he'd be fine with another DR game in the future if he finishes his projects. Those two have their own little company as main priority now but they fine working with SC on their previous works as well.
>Where did Renju go????
>uhh maybe the cold storage warehouse that is mostly unrelated to him?
what is this logic?
Why didn't they give her this treatment before? Also I don't remember them explaining in the end about her getting this treatment.
This.
between starting this game fresh and finishing danganronpa 3 which should i do, i haven't played v3 since the week it came out if it matters
Did you finish the game?
>answers that the person Iris trusts the most is Uncle
>Aiba goes nope fuck you
>it actually is him later on
it's just memes, and it's not a stretch considering how Iris got it
> Cops look through the whole warehouse but don't find the frozen body hidden in the forklift
I don't get it.
No and I'm sure that there is a reason, but at this point in the game Date(and the player) have no reasons to think she would be there
It's just a random guess but the game treats it like a logical deduction
They have blackmail money from the higher ups of the police force and government. That's how they were able to get those tumors out of Iris' head. So it's not surprising they'd pay for those nanomachines for Hitomi's arm
There's a secret mechanism that enables them to hide it in the forklift without it being seen. Only Renju knew it and he told it to Hitomi
trying to do the routes in the least mindfuck order so the wild ride steadily builds up. read non context clues on route locks so for the two i havent done do I:
>Turn the TV Dial? (already did the route where you hit it)
>Lift the Right Cage? (the one that isn't the torn photo)
So Hitomi was planning on telling Date about her fixed arm....when?
It fucking found a way. Exiting a thread at once, job prevented from playing it all day long.
At the dance number in the end silly. And when Date heads on over to her place for some long overdue loving.
this order
Left cage
Hit tv
Complete routes
Right cage
Follow instructions
Finish route
Don't follow instructions
Finish route
Tune TV
The thing is that "Uchikoshi game" unfortunately tells you all you need to know and you can tell exactly how things are going to play out. The only open question is if the twist is going to be neat or monumentally retarded
paths from least to most mindfuck
red
yellow
purple-pink
purple-purple
green
Just finished it yesterday. Funny thing is that no one's talking about is that there's actually a secret QR code in the Sagan's house. The QR code plays a video of Manaka giving a message to Date himself
see
naix is literally a standin for the international globalist pedophile elites aka the jews and their ilk
play v3 faggot it's a great cap for the series fuck the haters
Already completed the Left Cage, Hit TV routes. Was gonna go for the TV, then I saw the murder video when I tuned it and figured I'd want to save it for later.
did red > yellow, about to start the purple routes
thanks anons, this game is a wild ride and i'm strapped the fuck in
>mfw receptionist ending
>flowchart resembles a snail
So, uh, what was that cop's name again?
Kodaka
wait no Taro
Or was it Kaniya Kamiya?
Play this game. DR is shit anyways 0
Date is so fucking based. Junpei and Sigma need not apply
Sigma's perverted jokes are made two times funnier in retrospect when you understand that for everyone else he was an old fart.
>wear it
>she wears it for the entire duration of the dream
TECHNOLOGY
Iris mentions in her crazy route that all dreams are connected outside of time, so he can pull information from himself when in Somnium from other timelines.
thats nonsense and I dont belive it
It makes a couple references to the Zero Escape series, but other than that, it's probably the most accessible.
IS there another explanation besides Blick Winkel or some other bullshit?
