Bottom two are from Rika's magical girl story. She was in love her childhood friend, who's also a girl, and her wish was for her friend to fall in love with her. It didn't go very well.
Top is from Ren's magical girl story. She tried to kill herself twice, but she got better thanks to Rika.

The stories seem pretty interesting but I just can't get over the mind-numbing gameplay.

She realized almost immediately that what she had done was basically brainwash her friend into loving her. Her friend had also just gotten a boyfriend; this is what triggered Rika into making her wish in the first place, because she was heartbroken. At one point she also ran into her now-girlfriend's ex-boyfriend by chance and she realized that he was actually a really good person, which made her feel even guiltier about breaking up that relationship. Basically, she was an emotionally vulnerable girl who made a mistake in a moment of weakness.
At the end of the story, she breaks up with her girlfriend and gets her back together with the ex-boyfriend. Rika's satisfied that she's done the right thing, but she's still pretty heartbroken over it all and now she's also hiding a lot of guilt over what she did.
Then she saved another magical girl from committing suicide and now that magical girl has a massive crush on her, so it's all good.

Also, Rika on the outside is sort of a gyaru-type who loves fashion and makeup, which causes some people to immediately think that she's shallow, but she's not afraid to stand up for people.
At the beginning of her story, when she's at a mixer with Hinano (the green-haired science loli who's actually 18), and some of the guys there start making fun of Hinano for looking and acting like a little kid, Rika gets pissed and calls them out even though Rika had only just met Hinano that day.
She puts on a cheerful front, but it's shown that she basically hates herself. She also gets pretty hot-blooded too; the first few days after she made her wish, she fought very recklessly and openly admitted that she was trying to vent her frustration about her wish. When she tells Ren her story, she calls herself a disgusting human being, though thankfully Ren disagrees. I think that she's one of Magireco's more interesting characters, I wish that she had a 5* (and that her attack animations didn't take a million years)

You can even auto through the main story segments you haven't cleared yet, which is probably a bug but it's been there for like a month now so they probably have no intention of fixing it.
Challenge Missions and Mirrors can be pretty fun though
