I'd say the butts are one of the few areas where 6 made some slight improvement over DOA5. It's not universal, Leifang for instance got hit with the pancake ass again, but she's chinese so it's to be expected, but others got some small increases. They might change it in later versions. Now that the sjws and esports people have moved on and don't pay any attention to DOA anymore, the devs may go back to what they know, increasing the breast size while flattening the asses.

The problem is her story was finished at the end of DOA1. After that she stagnated as a character, with Ayane, Helena, Christie, Bayman, Honoka, Lisa, Hayate, and NiCO all becoming more important to the ninja storyline than she was and growing as characters. Since then she's just coasted along moping about Hayate, moping about not being able to go home, moping about her clones. Even in DOA6, a game where the story mode focused on sisterhood with almost everyone, the only thing of significance she was involved in is something Ayane initiated, in that Ayane sent her distress butterflies to Hayate and her, which surprises her.

The problem as I see it is she was designed to be perfect, and perfect characters are inherently boring. Her flawed sister/cousin is much more interesting. Also, since she's perfect without any flaws, that makes it hard to put her in a lot of situations where a person must overcome their flaws to succeed. Ayane succeeded in attaining the life she wanted, or as close to it as possible the life Kasumi always had, by overcoming the social stigma of her birth by becoming skilled enough to silence her detractors. Kasumi's 'I'm so perfect, genetically superior, everyone wants to clone or be me and I hate to fight but I just can't lose' thing is on the same tier with Superman. Short of putting in impossibly powerful bosses, nothing really can faze Kasumi, and that's not interesting.

I can see where you are coming from, though I find the comparison to Superman to be contentious since there are actually some decent Superman stories told (but that is another discussion). I think that having Kasumi struggle with something meaningful would help to flesh her out as a character. Being raised as a ninja princess would probably stunt her development in certain areas of life and getting the boot from her ninja village should, in theory, expose her flaws and confront her with the reality of living a "commoner" life. But I really doubt TN would want to move in that direction narrative-wise, unfortunately.

The most recent game confirmed that Honoka is Ayane's half-sister (she's cousin to Kasumi and Hayate, her father was their uncle), and Hayate and Ayane determined to train Honoka as a ninja so she can control her demonic mimic power that she got from her and Ayane's shared father.

I missed quite a few of my favorite suits on the first time around in the DMM version, but have gotten pretty much all of them when they show up again.
Really the only truly missable stuff is probably the collab swimsuits, but for Steam I'm not even sure if those will be a thing.

Well shit, the writers have effectively made it impossible for Kasumi to take a proactive role in the series ever again like that, which means that bullhaded nature of hers that wants to protect her family has now died because the best thing she can do for them is remain hidden, never show herself in full again and only come when they contact her, which is already rare because they need the clan to think she is dead in the first place.
She is completely isolated now, nothing short of complete and utter alliteration of the clan besides two could allow Kasumi to walk free as a ninja and follow behind her peers and she can't be sad about it because she knew this was the path she was going to walk when she ran away to confront and kill the guy who hurt her brother in the first place, everything that happens to Kasumi is entirely on her because she just had to be a brocon and she even knows it.
What the hell do you even do with a character like that from a writing prospective? It's like if Ryu completely ruined his fighting potential to kill the bad guy knowing he'd never fight again

Why not? The Mugen Tenshin are a non-entity as it stands. Hayate will never be regarded as fondly as Ryu. It would make Kasumi in events again. It would likely result in a new dynamic between her and Ayane.
Ayane will find some solace from Ryu, but maybe also from a strengthened bond with Kasumi. Kasumi is living among the Hayabusa, but will feel duty-bound to enact revenge, just as she did in DOA1. And then to make the clan live again with some lucky fucker.
