Because you played that as a kid. Now that you're an adult, you're less shit at games. Also, you have more than 2 buttons on your Switch than on your Game Boy. You also have more hearts. You can also move in 360 degrees rather than just the 4 cardinal directions. Everything about the Switch version is much more efficient and easier. 4 hours is an exaggeration, but it's pretty much half of what it would take for you to beat the original game.

So far, everything was signficantly easier than the fishing mini-game.
You now remember the fishing mini-game is one of the hardest part of the game
