This is the most soulless piece of shit ive ever played. All it is a generic Ubisoft-tier boring, dull and empty open world game. Why the fuck did it get good reviews?

Sounds like you have not played too many games in general. Potentially not even this game either.

Actually play the game before criticising it

almost three years

why is this board so autistic

People still seethe about TLoU too and that’s 6 years old

>Why the fuck did it get good reviews?

Because it caught on and this place is a groundhog loop prison.

Idk I liked it. There's definitely a lot I want them to improve in the next one but to call this one completely without merit is disingenuous.

Brainlet baby can't into game design.

Stay baffled, confused and seething.

world is empty
respawn towers come off as uninspired
weapon durability is an injoke
shrines too numerous & short
kokirok seeds
best mount can't be placed in stable
motorcycle is dlc
master sword breaks

ubisoft games are full of soul, they're just far too many, far too much
nintendo is far too little, far too sparse

I'll always stand by my opinion that BotW isn't a particularly great game, but it is easily the FOUNDATION for a potential "Best Zelda to ever exist".

because it's actually a good game on a aesthetic and gameplay level and feels like playing a Ghibli open world game. but if you don't like it stop complaining about it so much and spend your time playing and talking about games you like.

I disagree totally, I think it's a great game in its own right and I'm very worried the next one will sully it.

nah user it's a great game, as someone who has never completed a zelda game but picked up a lot of them botw was the only one i felt motivated to complete to the end

Its amazing that 3 years later this board is absolutely fucking traumatised by BotW.

It truly is the gift which keeps on giving.

"soulless"
"artificial"
"gamer"
.... am done, you all sound the same.

With BotW's biggest problem being there not being quite enough to the world, being dead and all (the wonder of exploration and lore just sitting around can only go so far) I feel the universe as is progressing further along the recovery stages for humanity could open up for more character to be added to the country.

i'm pretty sure this will be the case as everyone is like bring back >muh dungeons
even if adding traditional dungeons will make the game more liner and boring and less like an open world game

because video games don't have expiration dates

i agree with you

>we will never get a normal zelda game again because zoomers told nintendo this is a literal 100/10
>zoomers aren't interested in dungeons, puzzles or collecting items

Attached: sad.jpg (736x748, 87K)

the only people traumatised are the dudebro gamers who only ever play gritty realistic games and fps shooters and think "horizon zero dawn should have won because it's more gritty and dark my dude and has better graphics"

>I feel the universe as is progressing further along the recovery stages for humanity could open up for more character to be added to the country.

We are literally the dad who wanted their son to be a piano player who then joined a metal band behind our back.

if you want dungeons go play the original zeldas with them fuck off boomer.

that's like expecting future Mario games to play exactly like Mario 64 and expecting it not to get stale and boring

You don't agree expanding the possible faces you could meet would at least liven up the place?

cheer up user, this is Nintendo!
they're going to inject open world and sandbox design with a full story and dungeons and equipment based progression
and never
&never
revisit the idea behind BotW ever
ever
again

Mario64 and Sunshine don't get stale
ever
ever

>Ubisoft, EA, Rockstar, etc. have been making open world games for a decade or even longer
>genre is stagnating
>Nintendo shows up
>having no background in AAA 3D open world development, they decide on a whim "Here, let me try that"
>right off the bat, Nintendo make the best open world game ever made on their very first attempt using a fucking toaster.

This will never not be hilarious.

Attached: 1538802026609.jpg (640x640, 126K)

any formula gets stale when you repeat it again and again
just look at pokemon, sure it makes money everytime but the games are getting less and less fun and the dumb gimmicks are not helping.

Kek I was waiting for this. And its true.

All it took was taking that "see that mountain? You can climb it!" meme and making it real by letting Link climb anything.

this this this

Nintendo yeeted on EA so hard

Honestly this. The best part of BotW was the lack of invisible walls, which every other open world game has. It still doesn't top Mercenaries 1 for me though.

Because its shit that keeps getting praised for some fucking reason.
People are genuinely confused as to why that's the case.

You are just one step away from the "We have a product for people without internet, the 360", but it is a small step.

All those confused people, uttering the same phrases word-for-word that detractors said years ago when the game wasn't out yet.

Literally no one gives a shit

you are so mad lol xDDD
enjoy you quality discussion with drones
your argument doesnt matter beacuse you are so mad xd almost three years LOL

>ubisoft games are full of soul
Without this line, I would maybe give you a 4/10 bait. You need to work on this a lot longer.

I dont think it's an all time classic. But any game that gives me 50 hours of genuine fun and excitement, and then has the good sense to let me finish it on my own terms when it starts feeling repetitive, is pretty great.

I don't think I've ever seen anyone talk about TLoU aside from that one guy wii compares it to Silent Hill.

when is the last time you've played Assassins Creed or Farcry? I will secede Splinter Cell

THIS

>Why the fuck did it get good reviews?
Journalists only played first ~10 hours of the game.
I also was baited for that before I realised its 6/10 tech demo and worst LoZ entry.

Holy fucking soul

Fucking retard.

I bet if you played Link's Awakening back in 1993 you'd cry about never getting another Zelda game set in Hyrule again.

because open world games are inherently shit.
It's just sane people reminding you to stop bing bing wahooing too hard.

Morons like you think Zelda is about dungeons and items. Thats what you think. Because you are stupid. And you have the cheek to call other people zoomers.

Zelda's original working title was simply "ADVENTURE". BotW is one of the most 'Zelda' games ever made. You never understood the series.

>bing bing wahoo

>n-no all that praise and acclaim doesn't count!!

Attached: 1564789837781.png (758x930, 243K)

what? You don’t like walking around in giant stone animals with no music in the background while you rotate stuff around constantly and develop vertigo?

Why do people like to defend this Zelda so hard? Even if you like open worlds, this open world is mediocre at best and offers nothing new to the table. Plus the story is shit and the music.. there is none! Everything about it is just incredibly mediocre. This would easily be the worst 3D Zelda if Skyward Sword didn't exist.

>this open world is mediocre at best and offers nothing new to the table

3 years of denial. My god.

Attached: 1560984269128.webm (750x932, 1.41M)

a good formula will stay the test of time

The fuck are you talking about? The objective of the first Zelda was solely around getting items and beating dungeons. Don't be stupid.

Then how about you enlighten me on what it introduced to the open world genre?

Normalfags love walking simulators, of course they love BotW

>Dungeons
The divine beasts
>Puzzles
Shrines
>collecting things
Korok and Catalogues

Anything faggot?

Attached: 1478058720132.png (664x520, 177K)

this too was my opinion before i played the game

Having every weapon break after 5 hits while boring piano music plays

>makes vague post about game a lot of people like to get a reaction

Tons of people admit its a terrible game but no one makes threads about it at 4am.

Do you get paid to do this?

I couldn't get through this game the combat was too boring - same with Souls.

I don't care if you think simple combat done well is interesting, it's a simple fact that combat done simply is simply uninteresting!

>the divine beasts
no. Those vertigo-inducing trial and error shrines were not dungeons

sure they werent. fucking pussy.

Whats the point? Its been explained endlessly to you for 3 years straight and you either don't want to accept it or you just too fucking stupid to understand simple game design.

It’s a Zelda game. People eat that shit up on the title alone

What the fuck is Odyssey if not Mario 64 for the modern era?

BotW will never be as good as Assassin Creed, the first one was epic, the second one was improved, the fourth added a sea like Wind Waker, even the next several are good in their own right.
Just because you can climb everything doesn't mean you should. Just because the controls and sandbox is amazing doesn't mean that it has anything on some older and some newer games. It's as if most of you people have never played a good open world game in your life, one with parkour and a storyline that's immersive.
lol what bogus thing too
>our current market obviously doesn't cater to you, stay stuck in retroland
^there it is!
>this new game, it's what it was always about ya'here
one small step for man, one giant leap of faith for a more accessible entry in the series
nice deflection, this game can't be criticized, Nintendo doth not sin, ever ever
>3 years of denial. My god.
stop denying the criticism fucknugget
>divine beats
>dungeons
>oh and heres all the puzzles that belong in said temples, spread throughout the landscape ad nausium
don't fucking tempt me
fucking idiot
I understand it has a wonderful physics engine, but it's missing everything else under the zelda moon
it's Mario 64 meets/x captain toad

You're right Odyssey is a dumbed down, casual version of Mario 64.

Look at the sheer amount of people you're trying to respond to. You are fucking seething kiddo. Holy shit lol 3 years and you still can't cope.

Attached: 97-1.png (1080x1301, 609K)

It should win an award for being the most overrated game of all time

I played it for the first time ever a few weeks ago and thought it was a piece of shit, why does the release date matter?

iconic

>that cold deflection
I actually will seethe about this
I will be upset until I get actual defense force alpha on the case
>seething for life
it's not iconic it's retarded, why knock it down to mere minutes, it should start off at minutes, it's fucking weak mockery

Attached: seconds.jpg (700x913, 122K)

much better, it feels nice to be acknowledged
