Probably rebalance some of the shittier dresspheres, most of Gunner's kit is useless for instance. Tweak grids so that spells lile fucking Flare aren't locked by 4 or so job switching per fight, make it so the secret events like Maechen in chapter 1 gave bonus leeway percentage instead of necessary percentage by bumping up other events a little, give monsters a bit more customization and control obviously oh and raise the stakes a bit in chpater 2. It's kind of boring and pointless.
Other than that it's fine the way it is.

Make it as depressing as possible, should have been a heartbreaking story about Yuna being unable to cope with the loss of Tidus and slowly spiraling out of control

It was already as Paine's game as it was about Yuna. But I agree that Rikku had no development at all though I can live with it, as Rikku's entire character is about being Yuna's emotional support.
