I on the fence and need someone to teeter me over the edge just a bit.

I already have the PS4 Version of this controller on Preorder. It was like $380 before shipping. The preorders are open for another half a week. I am thinking about double dipping and also buying the Nintendo Switch version. I almost bought one of the mini versions a year or two ago for $400 used. The price on these things will skyrocket. I am using Baggageforward jpn as a forwarding service. By the time i get them shipped im looking at 1k total costs. Am i insane or will this payoff bigtime later? Preorders close on Tuesday

whatever just do it homo miku would want you to

It seems you're missing a few buttons

Just buy a brook PS4 to Switch controller converter if you really want to use it to play Mega39s, though why you would want to play it in anything but portable mode when Future Tone DX exists? Since this is the Miku thread, I went to Magical Mirai this year and it was fucking great, the wotagei in Bless Your Breath was so much fun youtube.com/watch?v=7EEUU-yIN5c

>$1k total
What the fuck? Where do you live user? No forwarding service worth a damn should charge you that much. Even if shipping is ~150 inland + overseas it should get nowhere near $1k. And no, just get a converter if you want Switch Miku that bad.

Just realized you meant for both. Don't do both.

damn. I can only hope a Miku exop will appear near me soon. Anyone know where the next one is. I probably already missed it.

I will look into the converter. But something about owning both versions just seems alurring. I have the money, it will sting, but only till next paycheck like everything else i have bought. If i change my mind i could probably sell it for double at least probably pretty easily.

I will buy MikuMega39 because I dont like DLC and dont like that the new songs have to be downloaded for future tone. Id rather have Miku's 39 to have a hard copy of the new songs, even if it sonly 10 of them.

Maybe i misworded it,but i meant the 2 miku controllers are going to be $800 more o less and + shipping of im estimating at max $200

Next Miku Expo is for Europoors in 2020, an NA tour in 2020 is likely too since they've been doing it every 2 years
>I don't like DLC
already announced that Mega39s will have DLC

Miku Expo 2020 will probably come to US. Europe just got its 2020 dates announced so ours should come soon enough. I went to 2018's Miku Expo in D.C. Fucking 10/10 experience, will absolutely go to Miku Expo again even if it means some travel.

Buy an adapter.

on that note is there good switch to ps4 converters?

I wouldnt mind buying both having a spare after my ps4 one wears out after years of use and they are impossible to acquire. Am i being to rabid?

I believe that the PS4 one connects to PC through steam? I don't think you need another. If it breaks, there are probably ways to repair it. What kind of switches does it use?

Yes, you are. As for Switch to PS4 I'm not sure. Honestly it likely wouldn't work in reverse anyways. No way for the touchpad to work if its converted from Switch, which the PS4 version relies heavily on. Assuming this has R1/L1 on the sides I guess you could do it that way instead.
Regardless, for ANY converter the #1 place to go is Brooks brand.

This is what i am kinda afraid of. I buy the converter for ps4 to switch and its missing a functionality

I'm getting this instead. Works on both and won't make my wallet cry as much.

PS4-> Switch SHOULD work since I think the Switch version has optional waggle but we don't know yet. The controller has the slider so I'm assuming it'll be the same situation actually. BUT if there is L1/R1 functionality you can map the slides there, like how it is regularly, amd get by.

So there are differences?
Maybe the OP is right in buying another one.

Hori store page says the Switch version connects to the dock only. So i the controler is not playable in portable. Wonder if it works on a lite

probably if you buy a portable USB hub, I know hori makes one

So how does the switch version compare to Future Tone or... Whatever the most recent one is. Future tone had like a billion songs, didn't it? Kinda hard to one-up that isn't it?

switch version has something like 100 songs. only 10 being new, the rest from future tone. its cell shaded to make up for the graphics in-capabilities

Wasn't future tone like 300 songs though? Or was that all DLC that'll also be available on this one?

The comments says it'll be ~500. But it is cross platform and metal instead of plastic. I'll probably get one. Thanks user, didn't know about this until now.

At $500 it's still worth it if it let's me play FT and M39 without any adapters or shit like that.

i can only hope the dlc are clothes or repurposed future tone songs.T he controllers comes with a DLC outfit it seems like, but overall i will just hope for a unlikely GOTY version in years time if new songs are added as dlc.

...Well. Guess I'll stick to being a dual-face pad player...

They sell parts invidually, so you could custom one yourself potentially. Maybe without the slider pad since I imagine that's harder to hook up to an existing PCB.
