I'm not gonna lie, I'm extremely happy part 1 is gonna include him, we'll get to hear him talk in a voice that isn't his terrible AC counterpart. and because fur isn't hard to render anymore he's actually gonna get screentime.
I'm skeptical about the remake, and I hate episodic shit, but he's gonna be the thing that sells me on part one as soon as we see him I fucking know it.
I'm intrigued on how they're gonna pull this one off. I hope he's not so awful in the remake as he was in the original ff7. I want to like everyone in the cast, but Cait Sith makes it difficult.

Apparently one of the SE reps during Famitsu's livestream of the demo mentioned "of course he's in" when asked by one of the other dudes if he was in this part, not 100% on this because I don't speak Nippon, but multiple people have said so.
Also SE revealed the Midgar cast in original polygon figures at TGS, Red's there, Yuffie/Cid/Vincent/Cait aren't, safe to assume they're witholding his new merch until his new reveal
Lastly the games going past where you get him, they showed hundred gunner already, they said no experiences are being sacrificed, and that major plot points stay the same, so he's in.
Worst case scenario SE just makes him a story character for part 1, either way he's in and I'm happy we aren't gonna have to wait years to see him like the other 4 characters.

The main issue with his face (as well as Sephiroth's) is that they lack jaw, while they have too pointy chins.
