You can solve this, right Yea Forums?

1/7
Move the diamond shape to mirror itself four times, one for each side. That covers a lot of the flag and gives you 5 diamonds, and leaves 4 small triangles, enough space to make 2 more diamonds. So 1 diamond is 1/7 the total space.

correct

Except the diamond is 1/8. You can turn the diamond into two rectangles each 30x20 inches, which in total have an area of 1200 sq. in. You can calculate the area of the entire flag itself and figure out the answer from there.

these games are for 9 year olds and most adults have trouble thinking about fractions like 1/7 desu

The diamond is in the exact center of the flag. If you were to put it in a rectangle with the same alignment as the flag, that rectangle would be one quarter the size of the flag.
The diamond would have one half the total area of that rectangle.

Flag is 9600 or 8:12
If you think of center area as a rectangle it is 2400. The diamond is exactly half of that rectangle(imagine putting a cross through it, you get four rectangles split diagonally in half) making it 1200, or 1/8 of 9600
