Danganronpa just because in 90% of PW cases the killer is obvious from the investigation segments.

the one that is not reddit

Ace attorney. The cases were more difficult and satisfying. With danganronpa I could see every twist the trial was going to take from a mile away.

Well in a lot of the cases they straight up show you who it is. It's supposed to me more like a TV mystery show like Columbo or Monk where you know who the killer is off the bat, and the real mystery is how and can you prove it?

None of these games are "reddit" you fucking buzzkill.

I find it much more engaging when the killer is left as a mystery and you're left to piece the clues together to work out who it is.

Yeah it really just is a preference for the set-up. They're both good in their own regards.

The killer is never a mystery in danganronpa, and you don't even piece anything together. The game holds your hand feeding you clues at just the right time so you're never lost. With ace attorney you actually have to think about what you find in the investigations or you'll be stuck during the trial and even if you know who it is you wont be able to prove it, with the possible exception of the always piss easy first cases.

dr has the same problem sometimes, chapter 3 in the first game is obvious before the investigation has even started.
If anything thats worse because in aa you're meant to know who the culprit is where in dr its unintentional.

The thing that annoys me most about ace attorney is how you present contradictions.
It's happened over and over again where I know in my head that a certain piece of evidence contradicts a statement logically, yet the game shoehorns me into finding their specific contradiction. It's very frustrating.

neither

DR always looked like shit to me and Yea Forums has permanently turned me off from AA because of its autistic fanbase

That's true, that bit is really annoying. That said, I'd rather deal with that than have the answers handed to me on a silver platter. I also hate that ending bit in the 3d AA games where the game holds your hand until you get the conclusion of the case right.

mfw no one remembers one of the best crossovers in gaming

You absolutely didn't see 2-5's twist coming and you're a liar if you claim otherwise.

On the other hand, Phoenix is a more compelling protagonist than Naegi.

I haven't finished 2 yet don't spoil me. Please, I've already been spoiled on Chiaki.

Phoenix Wright for me.
I liked the investigation/murder mistery segments in Danganronpa but the story of the games is beyond awful.

>"Professor, I knew you would solve this case. Truly you are worthy of your reputation."
>"Oh, and I guess that faggot Phoenix was here, too."

This game pissed me off.

We're talking about Danganronpa, not Danganronpa 2 you fucking retard.

But that fits the character of PW pretty well, though. Dude is always talked down to and Layton is well respected.

Are you usually this retarded or do you just lack basic reading comprehension?

Phoenix because the writing is better, but I do love the base premise of Danaganronpa. Once you start peeling back the layers and it's all about HOPE and DESPAIR, it kinda loses it for me. I haven't finished 3 yet, but I heard it's the worst one.

I guess, but it still didn't sit well with me.

Does it matter?
As of late both types of threads are full of RPfags and should go straight to the

>but I heard it's the worst one
Seems to be polarizing but I heavily disagree. For me it was easily the best one of the three.

Ace Attorney easy, it has superior character writing and mysteries, top tier banter as well. Danganronpa is fun but has a lot of flaws and peaked with 2.

I really like both and wish there were more games like them. I guess I have to pick DR, even though the shitty moments in DR are much dumber than AA, DR is never boring.
