Neither does Sony, the point is that if Sony can set up meetings to talk so can companies with a vested interest in platinum. Also Platinum just finished getting their dev strategy down with the sole purpose of independently developing games. They already have 1 important game in the pipeline being developed independently of another company the ceo has stated that this has been the company's goal since it's founding, selling out to Sony/Nintendo/Square is the opposite of that.

The CEO had interview about this a couple months back.
