Oblivion is the key to everything.
Oblivion is the key to everything
I like bruma and skingraad and chorral. So many excellent places to live. I think I might have to go with the house in chorral with the big tree outside. That's where I read most of the in-game books after a long adventure. I wonder what kvatch was like before it got sacked.
oblivion is not perfect by any means but it is one of the coziest and safe feeling games ever. I recently introduced it to my 8 year old niece and I think it will fit kids his age just fine. you basically cant lose at the game and everything happens on rails so you cant really miss anything or screw it up. he also dont know english and i think it would be a good tool for him to start learning as you only really need to follow the compass everywhere and soon enough he'll catch up on how the game mechanics work etc. such a good game. god bless
It's so bad though
Umm....
I hope you have modded away the horrible level up system because a bad player will seriously mess up their game if they don't "game" the system at higher levels.
The leveling will teach him the virtues of long-term planning, as well :)
OOO is probably the best mod for any game I've ever seen, maybe aside from gmod
Oblivion really did hit the sweet spot of modding communities before it all turned into coomer dress up doll fun time.
TAMRIEL AE DAEDROTH
bye
It has some darker elements with the gory sacrificed dudes in the daedric realms but otherwise its comfy as fuck for a kid
What are the odds we ever get an Oblivion remaster? As much as I think Morrowind probably deserves it more, selfishly I want Oblivion to get one first.
i plan on giving him a copy of it for the ps3. the leveling system wont be problem i think, i didnt have any issues with it when I played it as a kid and you can always lower the difficulty.
funnily enough i never realized that the minor and major skills influence leveling up differently until like a year ago or something. last time i played through the game I noticed a lot of mechanics and features I never bothered with or investigated, it goes to show how little you need to understand the game to still have fun with it at least as a kid
yeah i know but I saw that shit as a kid as well and it didnt mess me up any worse for ware. besides most of the stuff in oblivion is really tame and ends up as pretty non-threatening in the end. as a kid myself I never really registered that the things a I saw were mutiliated corpses, torn out hearts or beheaded mothers on a plate. it didnt phase as everything surrounding you otherwise is so colorful and cheerful
We probably won't.
oblivion really shouldnt get a remaster. oblivion is a fundamentally flawed game but its composition is just perfectly blended with beatiful scenery, graceful soundtrack, goofy looking npc's, repetitive but charming voice acting and theatrical questlines. a remaster according to me wouldnt be able to fix anything of note aside from the level scaling and would end up ruining everything that made oblivion so comfy and nice in the first place. morrowind definitly deserves it more, that game would gain 10 miles from it and would become 15 times better because of it
Gimme a build for my next oblivion playthrough.
Oblivion gives the player MUCH more agency than either Morrowind or Skyrim. You can have your own pirate crew that does missions, a vampire assassin that does jobs, an actual wizard society, a real, underground thieves guild, and there's much more to do in the world. It's a much larger game, and the writing is far better.
argonion with focus on alchemy, two handed, acrobatics, athletics and destruction magic
make potions that drain enemy fatigue and punch the shit out of them to drain them even more and get a good paralzying staff to immobalize them even more while your jumping around a like a gecko on speed.
i used this setup last time i played and i considered giving it up because every encounter with an enemy would just end up with me mercilessly beating them unconscious and them taking advantage with them on the ground. this build would work well with rape/sex mods
Sounds fun. I'll name him Cooms-In-Victims
now i can justify staying up late
thanks nickies
You'd think Todd would be all for remastering old games so that they can be sold on new platforms.
i have skyrim on my microwave
One can only hope it's because they're busy with TES VI and Starfield, and not because they're just pumping out Creation Club crap and relying on Fallout 76 and ESO's shops.

Skyrim 2 better let me climb shit
