I liked the game a lot. But honestly it was too in-depth for me at the time as I had just gotten into fightan games when it came out. I could barely get a QCF like a quarter of the time.

I could have been playing the most OP team the game had ever seen and I still would have lost every single game. Rebind the movement keys into a hitbox style layout, a s d space for directions with space for up and whatever feels natural to rest your fingers on for the buttons

I'm casual so hitboxes and most info about them to me is just knowing they exist.
On arcade stick, i've actually only used one for two games.
The simpsons arcade game and a MvC2 arcade cabinet.

Probably because I grew up playing old platformers on pc that tended to bind jump to space anyway, and not in arcades. I've only ever really tried really cheap shitty sticks too.
They do help with execution for some things, and a couple motions are a little trickier although not much. You have to be precise with half circles because depending on how lenient the game is it's easy to miss a diagonal and not get the move, but it definitely takes less practice to do stuff like unbuffered 360s on hitbox than stick. I find it easier on my hands too, but again that might have been the sticks I've tried were too light and small and generally crap.
Really just play whatever you're most comfortable with, the best Zato in the US plays with a ps2 controller
