Gamecube and Wii, that's it, and the trilogy came out in 2009. So it's been over a decade since these games have released on another platform.

Why would they release it now? The Trilogy needs to be released relatively close to Prime 4 so it stays with the public long enough.

That's what I mean though, I'm hoping they will do a remastered trilogy with HD textures before 4 releases.

The rumours have been pretty strong that a Trilogy remastered not only exists, but has been ready for a long time. With how little the original games sold, everyone keeps saying that re-releasing the Trilogy would probably help Prime 4 in introducing a buncha people to the series.
I'm pretty confident it'll happen, but not for at least another year.

Yeah, they'll probably do it like that. At some nintendo direct while showing off details about Prime 4 "and by the way, if you wanted to catch up on the story we'll be re-releasing the original trilogy on the switch...and it comes out...right now!"

I'm thinking they can't be bothered. With how shitty the motion controls are for Switch they'd need to retrofit Corruption to work with a regular controller.

These are three full first party AAA games, how "close" do they want to wait and release the Trilogy to MP4's release window? A year and a half should be plenty.
