Has anyone here had a seizure from a video game? I see seizure warnings in nearly every game I play, yet I've never heard about a video game-induced seizure IRL.

Are you someone who gets seizures?
it's mostly epilectics who get seizures from flashing lights and whatever could be in a video game.
I know a friend who would get a headache from the flashing lights in Ace Attorney and because of that he would only play it in short bursts, but he never actually had a seizure
there is a vid of a kid having a seizure in VR chat. the funniest part is when the jackass with alternating rainbow lights keeps being up on his face including the rest of the fuckwads.
Not me, but a friend of mine had epilepsy. It would basically lead to him just getting a nasty headache and feeling queasy, maybe getting sick. Never had a full-on seizure, and it was only certain games that would do it, but I can see why you'd need to put a warning like that for the 1 in a million who would have a full on seizure.
The secret is visual induced epilepsy doesn't exist. And doesn't make any medical sense.
Televisions themselves are nothing but continuous rapid flashing lights that update so fast you can't see it, but your subconscious does.
Epilepsy exists. But there is no credible evidence to suggest there exists a specific disease that triggers epileptic fits just from seeing flashing lights. Humans are just prone to making up illnesses, especially when there is money involved.
Thats for photosensitive people, of course normal people wont suffer from that
How do they profit from faking visual induced epilepsy?
>why yes I fake having seizures and buy medication for my fake illness
>this somehow makes me a profit
>tfw germophobe
>tfw this pic makes my skin crawl
>tfw enjoy your clapmydiayphilis crabs
Not a seizure, but I've gotten terrible migraines from that underwater level of DKC2 with the angler fish
my sister is autistic, a full blown aspie neet that loves splatoon, thing is, most aspies hate when there are a bunch of colors in small bursts so she has to play for small doses a day
one time she tought she could pull an all nighter and started screaming bloody murder that her head was about to explode
I have epilepsy, and have had minor seizures while playing, but it's not triggered exclusively from video games. It's more related to doing any form of multitasking while suffering from exhaustion.
Watch out for misinformation likenot that you're explicitly wrong, but there's this longstanding assumption that epilepsy is directly related to light refraction, which isn't necessarily the case or the neurology.
You can't just cure epilepsy by just not exposing yourself to light sources because it doesn't really have anything to do with that specifically.
Epileptic seizures are going to be caused by the brain misfiring while trying to coordinate the hands with the eyes with the actions on the screen.
It's only in extreme cases (e.g. Porygon) where the act of flickering lights causes the brain to not be able to compute the refraction, thus triggering a seizure.
No, but migraines, complete with preceding visual aura, phonophobia, photophobia, nausea, etc.
Lots of flashing or colorful parts do it. Also, certain games.
>shitting in urinal
>underwear still on
>flipflops
I can tell this person is on vacation and extremely drunk.
tfw i've had an aura migraine that hasn't gone away for a year now and i'm blind in my right eye because of it and constantly see dozens of floaters in my vision at all times
Can I get a link?
I get headaches and afterimages from playing shmups
Is your sister single? Warm hole. Warm hole.
I was gonna mention this one
I was in detox one time for alcohol withdrawal and 5 days sober I had two back to back seizures. They said they'd never seen that before.
wait wait wait, you can get blind from migraine? aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
back to back? sounds like my brother but he's an actual epileptic.
look up aura migraine
Not him, but your eyes get clouded up by shimmering clouds with "lightning" in them.
google.com
they can cause blind spots in your vision yeah
Yeah. I guess I just started seizing on the couch. They put me on the floor and the nurses all rushed in. I stopped and a few minutes later I started seizing again. I woke up in the ER. Don't remember a thing.
Alcohol abuse completely fucks with your nervous system, especially when you're a long time heavy drinker.
Jesus Christ that sounds horrifying.
