Why was he so buddy buddy with Arthas?

I found it odd that they gave Kel'Thuzad the portrait of a standard lich since the standard lich was an orc shaman or warlock who got transformed into liches by Kil'Jaeden. Kel'Thuzad was suppose to have been a human yet they gave him an orc skull instead of a custom portrait.

Rule of cool tempered by arbitrary plot convenience to sell whatever narrative the drunk writers are pushing this week

If it was JUST rule of cool people would love it a lot more, instead we get bullshit like vol'jin dying to a random grunt for no reason after never being allowed to do ANYTHING as warchief, or Night Elves being neutered and spayed from day 1 when they were their own popular faction in Warcraft 3

A pure rule of cool Warcraft wouldn't be so goddamn fucking frustrating

>Not even necessarily talking about the MMO
>Proceeds to exclusively talk about problems that started with the MMO

>heroic fantasy
Pre-wow your name probably meant you had a good or extremely high power level, post-wow it means the writers want to kill you to make the playerbase feel strong or they just didn't like you
>airships, mechas, firearms
Airships and mechas were mostly goblins and gnomes, one which were mercs and the other was absent in Warcraft 3. Firearms were kinda limited to dwarfs.

Is there something amiss?

Indeed.

WoW peaked with MoP

T2 and 3 UD main buildings got crazy damage in RoC, just plop down 3 at each route and spirit towers behind them. Also take the extra expansion really quick. Arthas and a fiend squad can help out where needed.

Blizzard writes everything backwards, they think of something cool they want in the game and retcon the whole universe to make it fit. That's why WoW is such a clusterfuck.
