Why was he so buddy buddy with Arthas?

Arthas revived him why WOULDN'T he be buddy buddy with him.
And p sure the lich king was communicating with both of them so he was in on the whole thing

wow peaked with naxx and ulduar

he knew ner'zhul would grant him anything he wanted if arthas was brought to him
this is a warcraft thread not wow nerd

What the fuck did he want? To just hang out and do nothing?

man fuck that last chapter from undead where you have to defend lich for 1 fucking hour or how long it was

KT had a particular philosophy about the Undead that made him the perfect Lich, "All wars and killings will cease when everyone is dead and serving the Lich King". He recognized Arthas as an incredibly willful person who could not only overcome Ner'zhul on the Frozen Throne, but who could also control and direct the entirety of the Scourge into the force it was meant to be.

I hope you mean Vanilla naxx because the rehash was lazy and also fucking retarded that it still kept the Priest mind control as mandatory for an entry tier 25-man

immortality and power, which he got
also skeleton dragon butthole

the final 10 minutes is a real pain since they staring brining in fuck load of tanks.

They were canonically bros

The next prince of Azeroth

WoW peaked with Sunwell at the end of BC.
While I enjoyed WotLK at first, it was the beginning of the end for me.
Played from 2005 till 2008, no regrets but I never came back.

Had had nothing against him, or Lordaeron, really.
He just wanted to experiment and learn about magic, in particular the magicks that were used against humanity by the Horde so as to fight fire with fire - Necromancy in this case.

He was chastised for it and came to be shunned and isolated, despite sitting on the Council of Six - the true rulers of Dalaran, the Wizard Kingdom.

He was seduced by the Lich King and drawn to Northrend where he was offered to choice of becoming a willing apprentice and majordomo, or as a mindless servant. He chose the former and quickly came to embrace and accept his dark purpose and evil nature.

He was in on all the plans, and set Arthas on the road to damnation. Who he advised once corrupted, and Arthas later being instrumental in not only bringing Kel'Thuzad back, but as the Archlich that he is!

From there on they fought together, relied upon one another and formed a friendship, to the extent that they could given all circumstances.

Kel'Thuzad is the best. I hope that when they eventually bring him back, they won't kill him off for good. He's their best bad guy. He never went crazy, he never had a sad backstory. He chose evil, he's fully aware of what he is and he embraced it. He has proven to be reliable, wise, funny as well as cunning and powerful.

>incredibly willful
>gets rused and mind controlled by the lich king instantly
He was a retarded child

Its hard to tell really. It seems like just really like necromancy and the lich king was the only one who would let him do it.

I believe there is a second gold mine on that map you really need to take that early and start mining with 5 asap. also have some shade scouts set up on the attack routes so you know which way they are coming so your mobile defense can get in front of your towers. and if it really comes down to it, don't forget arthas can still death coil him for emergency health. I was coiling him to live in the last few seconds of hard.

Kill the kitty.

And also he's a cat person, so there's that.

Why is Warcraft such a shit setting? Not even necessarily talking about the MMO but I can't think of anything that actually seems decently written or coherent. Reading the cosmology and metaphysics makes my head hurt and the continuity or even basic fluff of anything is a mess of retcons because nobody seems to have any directive vision. Nothing feels internally consistent and the story is some kind of extreme heroic fantasy garbage. Then there's the huge schizo tech problem making me wonder why Stormwind is still in some kind of medieval stasis with knights and such when you got everything from airships, nukes, mechas, firearms and the entire magitech civilization of Draenei with actual spaceships and the like. Or just compare Gilneas and the other human kingdoms, really.

Maybe I'm missing something. This feels like "rule of cool" going too far especially when it tries to take itself seriously.

I found it odd that they gave Kel'Thuzad the portrait of a standard lich since the standard lich was an orc shaman or warlock who got transformed into liches by Kil'Jaeden. Kel'Thuzad was suppose to have been a human yet they gave him an orc skull instead of a custom portrait.

Rule of cool tempered by arbitrary plot convenience to sell whatever narrative the drunk writers are pushing this week

If it was JUST rule of cool people would love it a lot more, instead we get bullshit like vol'jin dying to a random grunt for no reason after never being allowed to do ANYTHING as warchief, or Night Elves being neutered and spayed from day 1 when they were their own popular faction in Warcraft 3

A pure rule of cool Warcraft wouldn't be so goddamn fucking frustrating

>Not even necessarily talking about the MMO
>Proceeds to exclusively talk about problems that started with the MMO

>heroic fantasy
Pre-wow your name probably meant you had a good or extremely high power level, post-wow it means the writers want to kill you to make the playerbase feel strong or they just didn't like you
>airships, mechas, firearms
Airships and mechas were mostly goblins and gnomes, one which were mercs and the other was absent in Warcraft 3. Firearms were kinda limited to dwarfs.

Is there something amiss?

Indeed.

WoW peaked with MoP

T2 and 3 UD main buildings got crazy damage in RoC, just plop down 3 at each route and spirit towers behind them. Also take the extra expansion really quick. Arthas and a fiend squad can help out where needed.

Blizzard writes everything backwards, they think of something cool they want in the game and retcon the whole universe to make it fit. That's why WoW is such a clusterfuck.
