why are you buying that cpu

MY EVGA GPU fucking caught on fire. I clean my PC out regularly, so fuck knows what caused it. It wasn't even while running but when I tried to boot it up after a random shutdown. No blue screen. No nothing. Just fucking sparks. What the fuck...

Because I don't know what a good cpu is, all I know is that if its pricey its better quality. right?

I'd switch the 250GB SSD with a 1-2TB HDD. You can put your C drive on the 500GB SSD along with a lot of other stuff; why do you need 2 SSDs? Also, your motherboard has 2 M.2 slots, so you're better off getting an M.2 SSD like the 970 Evo.

Not necessarily, no. CPUs on the low end of the spectrum have lower clock speeds and less cores, and CPUs on the higher end of the spectrum have higher clock speeds and higher cores. Look up CPU benchmarks, and more importantly think about the kinds of things you're going to be using your PC for. Think of the most demanding game you'll want to play, and look up what the CPU requirement for that game is. Then get a CPU that's just a little bit better than that. That's all you need; you can save a lot of money.

Also, your CPU cooler comes with thermal paste. You don't need to get extra thermal paste, and the one that comes with your cooler is probably the best one to use since it was specifically designed to be used with that cooler.

Emulation generally requires beefier CPUs, right?
