Where the hell is Portal 3?

Where the hell is Portal 3?

It's been 8-and-a-half years.

the story was finished brainlet

Valve is trash now

Valve does not know how to count to three, user. Also Gabe turned into a mega-jew and said that single player games are the enemy.

There's no where to go story wise and nothing to add gameplay wise. What can a 3 add that isn't covered by community levels?

>Valve
>Counting to 3

Why does it need a sequel?

More funny dialog, which is what the people like OP expect out of a sequel.

Could always be a prequel.

That's the dumbest post I read here today.

Half-Life crossover. two birds with one stone

eat me you bitch made faggot

>portal 3
>when the workshop and hammer exists
everyone knows user created tests are the best thing about portal user.

>chell starves to death in empty wasteland
ok.

Portal is a puzzle game, not a shooter.

No it's not, it ended on cliffhanger

Valve doesn't make games, brainlet

>arrives heaven
>empty wasteland
God, you people are stupid. Why are you into Valve games anyway?

been done faggots

>Valve
>making games
lol

They released Artifact last year

IT'LL NEVER FUCKING HAPPEN GIVE UP

Properly implemented moving portals. B is both the most logically consistent answer AND would be legitimately fun for both puzzles and fucking around.

maybe to you. her goal was to escape aperture: the game ended with her succeeding, out into the world.

it's like saying the movie cube ended on a cliffhanger. what's outside of the facility doesn't matter to the story, what does matter is getting out

When you come to Los Angeles you can suck my cock

Probably coming to Valve Index.

>single player games are the enemy
based

Valve is not a video game developer. They are a video-game billboard service.

>What can a 3 add that isn't covered by community levels?
New game elements and mechanics.

It is canonically the wrong answer. Momentum is conserved between portals. The cube has no momentum, therefore, *plop*.

youtu.be/usyYqJf0rfk
What ending is that?

>Having expectations of Valve after 2004.
LMAO!

A is the correct answer you fucking moron, the cube has no velocity so it wouldn't shoot out like that

DUDE

CAKE

LMAO

No one's ever really gone

Claiming that the cube does not have momentum upon leaving the portal consequently means that every part leaving the portal is going to be pushed by the part that is emerging. Claiming that something that is clearly leaving a stationary portal and therefore moving, and yet somehow does not have momentum is contradictory.

B is logically consistent, and alternative answer is suggesting that the cube is flattened but that doesn't make for a particularly fun gameplay mechanic.

Realistically the story was complete with the original, the second was pulled out of nowhere

that's a funny meme

that was the ending to 1 before 2

Make one up that isn't stupid.

The correct answer is shut the fuck up.

What happened to this again?

Really good mod, some nice challenging puzzles.

>barely makes games, when they do, it's shit no one wants like artifact and that autochess
>csgo, dota 2, and tf2 are hardly relevant
>managenent of in game economy is horrible, as shown with the tf2 unusual glitch
>steam slowly getting cucked by epic
Valve's definitely gonna go bankrupt soon if they don't make a proper game soon.

If anything Portal 3 would be a colony management-type game where you have Aperture Science as your starting base and Chell as your first scout to explore the new surface world. Expand, repopulate, and revive the world, but with portals.

Bridge Constructor Portal is a thing and its fun

>Ratman
>Why did the ai went rogue
>Why chell, why now
>How is this tied to half life

sounds stupid

When is their "F-Stop" game coming out?

LEGO dimensions is the closest you’ll get to a portal 3

iirc all of that was introduced in the second game? If the second game never existed the original would be a complete story, albeit a rather vague one. Portal 2 opened the flood gates to expand the story, but wasn't followed up on in a lot of ways.

Jesus fucking Christ you morons, learn physics. Velocity (and thus momentum) is always relative, in Portal's case not to the world but to the portal itself. The cube flying into the portal at 60mph will have the same effect as the portal slamming into the cube at 60 mph.

>portal
>bouncy shit
What would you have the new physics gimmick be?

>Ratman
dosn't need explaining except as a previous test subject who broke out
>Why did the ai went rogue
cause that's what ai do you
>Why chell, why now
same reason life is on earth, if it wasn't chell, now, there would not be a game to ask the question of.
>How is this tied to half life
essentially an Easter egg

If it can't get into your head, consider the following: the portal is closing the distance at say, 10 meters / second. The cube can't exit the other portal at any slower speed, or it would be crushed by itself. The momentum of the cube would be its velocity * its mass, with sufficient velocity, it would be sent flying to whatever direction the end portal is facing.

Has any of this music been released anywhere? I like most of these songs.
youtube.com/watch?v=TluRVBhmf8w

except for the fact that in the cube universe it is just the real world during modern times

the portal universe is set far in the future and is in the HL universe, so people want to know what happens next

only a fucking brainlet can't understand this god damn

This

That’s why you apply the gravity gun and portal gun together to make it into a FPS Puzzle game, there is TONS of potential in it

I got excited for Gordon going to Aperture to find clues as to the whereabouts of the ship, but finding Glados having control of the facility and trying to escape, albeit does it pretty well because he actually has weapons. Disappointed we'll never get that in any form.
Yes, I understand the outline came out a while ago, where none of this fanfic-ey shit happens. A man can dream though.

Attached: 1549505029789.png (309x404, 195K)

Valve is too busy trying to lock devs into using their platform of dwindling importance (by using a stick approach rather than simply reducing the cut they steal). They have no time to work on actual worthwhile product.

I honestly don't understand. And I AM dumb, but I don't think me being dumb is the reason I don't understand.

A portal isn't an object. It isn't a THING. It's a fucking hole in space-time. I do not see any reason why an object passing through a portal would be any different to an object passing through a hole in a wood fence or through hoola hoop.

F-stop

This, the games literally only exist in the same universe because it made development easier and allowed for the reuse of assets and textures. Even if we get new entries in the series, and that itself is already a BIG if, I doubt that either series would be impacted in any meaningful way from sharing a same universe.

Attached: udontknow.png (636x998, 81K)

Why would it cut the column? The piece exiting the portal would have momentum, but would be effectively pulled back due to being connected to the part that had not left the portal.

When you throw an object, the object still experiences momentum if you don't let go of it during the throw, the idea of part of it breaking off as a result would only make sense if the material of said object is too weak to withstand said momentum.

more than cutting, I'm imagining that any object entering inside would be disintegrated to atoms because of the sudden momentum difference between the part inside portal vs outside of the portal

but I'm not really that good with physics. are there any cases in real physics where a similar non-gradual momentum can exist?

I had an image explaining that both answers are right depending on what portal perspective you take but I can find it so fuck you have have this instead

Attached: 1536381478480.gif (480x360, 3.93M)

every time the portal images get posted i'm reminded that any of you will defend any argument even if it's retarded
