Brother, you're talking peak Squaresoft here. That's something nothing, not just video games but any media, will ever come close to. Peak Squaresoft was something out of this world and it'll never happen again, not even in a million centuries.
Video games are still good though and this has been a nice year so far.

The problem came when creating an inn (whose sole function is to recover the player's HP and Mana in exchange for 25GP) required the work of 8 artists advised by an architect and a historian specializing in medieval history, and 4 weeks of work.

12 of those games are ports/remasters/remakes. not helping your case.
