Litchi wasn't really stupid? She was actually quite intelligent, at least academically. Her issue was her obsession and her emotions. Logically pretty much the entire world was telling her to stand down and give her crazy Mission a rest before she hurts someone. But she just wouldn't stop because she's just so emotional and Laser focused on true love now she can't stop and realize that she's causing more harm than good. And by the end she had a hand in probably the greatest loss of life in history. Only for her to find her true love just for him to tell her that he doesn't give a shit about her.

For the heroes I'd say Ragna, Noel, Rachel, Kokonoe, and sort of Jin but not really are the central cast members. For the villains it's Hazama, Relius, and Izanami that actually matter. Bullet is basically an object no one even remembers exists. Azreal doesn't exactly matter but he's fun so it's fine.
But yes Blazblue's script needs an editor with a blowtorch.
