>Play a game that sales itself on historical accuracy
>Isn't historically accurate
Bruh
Play a game that sales itself on historical accuracy
>trusting ubishit ever
>sales itself
do you mean sells itself
also
>sales itself on historical accuracy
since when
don't you remember reading in your history books that leonardo da vinci was good friends with the assassin houses of italy
I played this game for the first time today and i uninstalled it after 2 hours because despite being set 3000 years ago the characters still call each other "fucking dickheads"
Its jarring as fuck, seriously why didn't they get a historian to coloquilise the dialogue
You really think comparing someone to a penis is a recent insult?
There's a lot that's jarring about the game, but I'm going go with here and say that genital-based insults are probably some of the oldest insults in the world.
Its the vernacular they are using its 1000 bc and they're using terminoligy from the modern day. It was worse the life is strange's 40 year old millenial speak.
How do you figure?
Last I heard shit like Black Flag and Unity wasn't even legit 1:1 conversions of the past like the earlier games' Animus shit were, they were literally video games made by Abstergo to fund their activities.
I don't have a problem with genital insults but if they found a historian who could tell them exactly what curse words and insults they used it'd much better.
It'd be like someone in a medieval game calling someone a faggot when that word meant a bundle of sticks at the time. A bit of research goes a long way instead it feels like they just watched 300 and thought "ooh yeah lets do that"
Odyssey is supposed to be viewing the past. Atleast that's the impression they give within the first few hours.
Don't mean to sound like a moaning bitch but i set my expectations low, like really low for this and somehow still came out of it disappointed
Black flag was you farming data for them to make their games, not playing their games yourself.
Yeah, I don't know anything about the games past Unity but I'm just wondering what the setup is.
I know the whole idea is they started using it to make games, movies, and tv series, so I was just thinking some artistic liberties were taken so the world would get it.
Overall, you could just attribute that to the auto translation thing in the Animus, though. It just finds an approximation and throws it out, possibly (it used to not translate things it didn't know, usually cusses xd)
But i've only played AC1 and Brotherhood so i don't know the most about the series in general.
Surely there's a better point to get autistic about than the game explaining its own inaccuracies.
No. Surely the libs just don't want you knowing that. Also... did you know that Lincoln was a republican? They'll lock you up for saying that in public!
>itself on historical accuracy
assassin's creed doesn't do that. they are historical-fiction
>sales itself on historical accuracy
>mind control technology and ancient civilizations, including fucking atlantis
Ok retard
Yeah, and something about Unity had it so hackers hacked in and made it what it was ACTUALLY like instead of the Abstergo rewrite shit.
So there saying gender equality is primitive
Based ubisoft
>not necessary to prioritize historical sexism
Those who do not learn history are doomed to repeat it
>inclusive gameplay
These developers don't even know what gameplay is.
>Assassin's Creed
>sells itself on historical accuracy
That a joke?
I love how selectively people apply that reasoning. It excuses the dumbest shit.
>OH NO NOW THAT BOYS AND GIRLS ARE GETTING EDUCATED ON HISTORICAL VIDEO GAME POTTERY I THINK WOMEN SHOULDN'T BE EDUCATED
How does that work?
Assassin's Creed has a lot of gameplay though and it's fun.
M8 I'm the same i got sick of the franchise after brotherhood but I'm a sucker for ancient greece/ rome and there's so few games in that time period.
It does seem to be viewing the past because you use dna off of leonidas'es spear to 'go back'. Tbh i don't give a flying fuck about the present day story i just wanted to walk around ancient greece but i couldn't even get that.
Also the animus auto translating i think is a cop out to excuse bad writing
You're right, it would be really cool. But we're talking about an ubisoft game here, so you're being way too idealistic.
Have you heard of the Ship of Theseus? Democrats and Republicans traded places during the civil rights movements.
Haven't played a creed game in 5 years but I installed Origins for free few days ago and I think it's the best one yet.
Thats far from the worst offense in Odyssey
Apparently no one at ubisoft ever took an art history class or took 15 min to figure out that greek statues and buildings used to be painted.
Fucking kek
The joke is that a lot of people know that Lincoln was a republican and that is taught in school. Obama worked that fact into a speech before and then later Trump gets on stage and says "Lincoln was Republicans. Most people don't know that!"
>since when
since the first game, when they made sure that all of the real characters you assassinate die in the correct year.
You know there's more to historical accuracy than death years, right?
i forgot the historically accurate apple of eden allowed people super human powers
how do you know it didn't?
With all the wild stuff ancient greeks did just to prove a point or spite each other I wouldn't be surprised if some rhetor didn't take girls.
